Why Hearts of Oak have suspended coach Frank Nuttall indefinitely

Hearts of Oak have asked their head coach Frank Elliott Nuttall to step aside until further notice ahead of the new Ghana Premier League season, AshesGyamera can confirm.

The Scottish, according to the club, has been going against several laid down rules guiding the club’s activities in recent times despite initial query.

Although, Hearts top hierarchy failed to pinpoint his main indiscipline act, our sources have revealed that his dictions towards the club’s management and relationship with other technical team members and players, as well as flouting the number of days given to him for holidays in his native country in the past resulted into the decision taken by the club’s top hierarchy.

Nuttall who joined the Phobians last season to replace interim coach Yaw Preko, after Hearts parted ways with Kenichi Yastuhashi, failed to land the Rainbow Club the Ghana Premier League as they finished third behind Aduana Stars and Wafa as well losing the Ghana FA Cup final 3-1 to bitter rivals Asante Kotoko in Tamale.

However, he became the first coach to send the Phobians to the FA Cup final in 17 years after Jones Attuquayefio.

Kotoko bag ¢145,625 as net after CARA Brazzaville clash

The Porcupine Warriors had a near-fully packed stadium on Sunday when they pipped Congolese side CARA Brazzaville 1-0 in the Caf Confederation Cup preliminary round first leg.

Despite three penalty kicks missed by Sadick Adams, Amos Frimpong and Baba Mahama, substitute Yakubu Mohammed fetched the match-winner with a late penalty.

According to AshesGyamera.com, the stadium contained a little over 35,000 spectators.

The gross for the day according to our sources indicate that ¢253,352 was as gross fetched from the gate proceeds.

However, ¢107,726.81 which represented almost 40 per cent was deducted from the gross as charges which included VAT.

Also, Kotoko took home ¢145,625.19 as the net.

AshesGyamera understands that Kotoko are not happy with the deductions but have began their preparations to travel to Brazzaville next week with management member Tom Krugger expected to arrive in Togo on Tuesday to process the side’s visas for the second leg scheduled for February 21.

CafCC: How Asante Kotoko players fared against CARA Brazzaville

Following the near-shambolic 1-0 victory by Asante Kotoko against Congolese side CARA Brazzaville, which included three missed penalties and a late goal from substitute Yakubu Mohammed, Osei Akoto Kanu has come up wih his ratings.

The second leg of the tie has been slated for February 21 in Brazzaville.

Felix Annan 9/10
Very solid in post, kept an impossible clean sheet after two world class saves. You only see De Gea, Oblak, Neuer, Ter Stegen of this season etc making such saves. He in my opinion won the game for Kotoko not Yakubu.

Amos Frimpong 6/10
As usual, the captain ran up and down for 90 mins and contributed enough in creating chances for the team. But for his penalty miss, it would’ve been another perfect Afternoon for the ex BA Utd captain.

Eric Donkor 6/10
A bit silent in the game in my opinion but you can’t write off his contributions in creating dangerous situations with his inswingers and set pieces.

Awudu Nafiu 5/10
I rate his average. He is still struggling to gain his confidence back. Remember he spent entire last season on the bench. A top top quality player but couldn’t live up to my expectations.

Wahab Adams 6/10
Debut game for Kotoko in Africa for the ex Aduana Stars stalwart. Wasn’t tested too many times but excelled in the few times the Congolese tried taking him on.

Jackson Owusu 8/10
Very electrifying game for him. Won tackles, passed very well, tried some through balls couple of times which I expected him to unleash some long drives. He was just a delight to watch.

Emmanuel Gyamfi 4/10
Seen him had one of the bad days in a Kotoko jersey. He attempted many take-ons and failed in a lot of them. He got desperate and gifted CARA a penalty which Annan eventually saved. That was just not Pajero or perhaps a Pajero with a flat tire.

Jordan Opoku 6/10
He started very well in the game but his power went off midway through. He failed to produce those trademark penetrating balls. I expect a strong competition for him from Sylla if his output remains same.

Sadick Adams 6/10
Missed a crucial penalty on the 8th minute that could break CARA down and expose them more attacks. His usual strong mentality did not sway his concentration off. Came back in it with couple of long drives which were being blocked by the CARA wall. I like Sadick because of his strong heart and I’m still asking myself why he did not take the rest of the penalties awarded Kotoko.

Kwame Boahene 7/10
Had a bit silent but impressive day. Who expected him to play a different role from where he had excelled all season? His dangerous moves from the flanks is what perhaps were missing from the Kotoko play. Struck the goal post, won a penalty and was very effective.

Baba Mahama 6/10
He saw a lot of play but contributed less than expected. Missed a penalty though but his general output is just above average.

Prophet Afrann accuses Ebony’s former manager Bullet after her death

According to a pastor called Prophet Cosmos Walker Affran on social media, the death of the dancehall diva on Thursday has some link to her former manager Bullet.

Reports recently in the local media indicated that Ebony had parted ways with Bullet who invested $10,000 in her career and the manager revealed that it will be suicidal and can bring down the career of musician if she decides to leave his Ruftown Records.

Although, it is not clear what role Bullet played in the accident that took the life of Ebony, her friend Franky and a soldier who was a bodyguard, the pastor indicates the former manager has several answers to give after their demise.

I would’ve stopped Ebony from travelling if she told me – Rev Owusu Bempah

“I took Ebony as my daughter and always advised her. I saw that her life was short on this earth and even told her to inform me before she leaves Accra to any place and she was doing exactly that,” Bempah told After 2 FM in Bechem.

“Unfortunately, she didn’t tell me about this journey. I didn’t know anything about it until I was told she had had an accident in her way back to Kumasi. It is sad but something could’ve been done about this to preserve her life,” he added.

Ebony, 20, had a wonderful moment in 2017 after releasing hit tracks Kupe, Date your Father, Hustle, Maame Hwe and Sponsor. She was highly tipped by music connoisseurs as a favorite to win Artist of the year in the 2018 Ghana Music Awards.
