Al Tahady petition Caf, threaten to boycott Champions League game against Aduana Stars

The Libyan side are currently lodging at the Golden Tulip Hotel and have insisted never to travel to Dormaa Ahenkro unless there’s a Caf intervention

Al Tahady have sent a petition to Caf and Fifa to compel Aduana Stars officials to provide them with an aircraft to Dormaa Ahenkro on Tuesday or move the match venue to Baba Yara Sports Stadium in Kumasi ahead of the second leg of Caf Champions League preliminary round on Wednesday.

Al Tahady who won the first leg 1-0 in Cairo, Egypt last week, arrived in Ghana on Friday and travelled by bus to Kumasi but surprisingly alleged they spent seven hours instead of the usual five hours.

However, with Dormaa Ahenkro lacking any three or four star hotel, the Ghana Premier League champions planned to host Tahady’s contingent at Eusbett hotel in Sunyani, the capital of Brong Ahafo region and bus the entire team to the match venue a day or several hours before kickoff but the North African club have rejected the arrangements.

They insist traveling from Kumasi to Dormaa Ahenkro by road is 202km, which is more than the 200km stipulated in Caf’s rules, hence, have requested for a flight to the venue or opt not to honour the game although there are no airport available at the city.

“We spent seven hours from Accra to Kumasi by road but this was not what they told us initially. We are very tired and won’t accept any further arrangement by road,” Dr Khalid Kwafi, president of Al Tahady told Oyerepa FM.

“The distance by road from Accra to Kumasi to Dormaa Ahenkro is more than 300 kilometres. This wasn’t what Aduana told us so it doesn’t make up and under no circumstance must we go to Dormaa to play the match.

“Therefore, I have sent a complaint to FIFA, CAF and Ghana FA so we are waiting for them. I have told [Ghana FA secretary] Alex Asante about it and waiting for the Libyan Ambassador also. There’s no way we can lose this points.

Aduana Stars ready for Al Tahady

He added: “Should this happen ,we will sue CAF and Aduana I mean it. Caf’s regulations stipulates that if the playground away from the capital is more than 200 kilometers the match will be played in the capital so tell them I am not playing the game.I have told the Libyan FA about it or we compromise to play in Kumasi.”

However, AshesGyamera understands that Aduana Stars top hierarchy are still working around the clock to find a solution to the concerns raised by the Libyan side before the close of the day.

The former Blues boss has announced his readiness to become the next Phobians boss ahead of the 2017-18 season

Berekum Chelsea former manager Tony Lokko has revealed that he is capable of leading Hearts of Oak ahead of the new season.

The Phobians are without a head coach currently, after Frank Elliott Nuttall was suspended indefinitely this week, with reports suggesting that he will be officially sacked on Monday.

And reports in the local media is linking Lokko to the vacant seat amid interest from other suitors.

“I have coached a team in the CAF Champions League. I have worked with Hearts’ assistant coach Henry Wellington before and he is a friend, a colleague and a brother,” Lokko told Zylophon FM.

“I know how Hearts of Oak operate and I have an idea in and out about their system. I am currently available to prove my worth to the club if they call on me to come and provide my services,” he added.

Hearts are without a major trophy since 2009 and have appointed more than ten coaches between then and now, in a bid to end their trophyless run.

Last season, they finished third in the log and lost the FA Cup final to bitter rivals Asante Kotoko in Tamale.

” I live a fun, free, bubbly life. That’s how Ebony was. She wasn’t a bad person.

“You didn’t know the purity of her heart. If you needed her to ‘change’ maybe if you guys had preached with love, she could have been better.

She added: “People look at people like us and think we’re bad and judge us but we’re not bad. We’re just in the world and we’re trying to find our way. We just need guidance. You guys need to bring love to us.”

Shatta Wale replies Okraku Mantey; stop fooling

Dancehall king Charles Nii Armah Mensah, known in showbiz as Shatta Wale, has launched another scathing attack in response to what Mark Okraku Mantey said about him on Thursday.

Mantey, president of the Creative Arts Council, revealed that he had nothing against the SM boss but pity him, adding that he wouldn’t waste energy to call him despite the recent attacks towards him from the Shatta Movement camp.

“I don’t have anything against Shatta Wale I only pity him,” Mantey said on Hitz FM.

“I would have responded if it were Sarkodie, M.anifest or Obrafour. I would have responded because I know it is not of their making.

“I would have called Sarkodie to find out if everything is alright,” he added.

In quick response, Shatta Wale did not mince words on Twitter, after he took the man who in the past made projections about him that he will never be successful in his music career, to the cleaners again.

Don Bortey curses Hearts; they’ll be relegated unless they settle me

The former Phobians poster boy has launched a scathing attack at the club, insisting that it will collapse soon unless they appease him

Former Hearts of Oak midfielder Bernard Don Bortey has cautioned the club’s top hierarchy to pay him his outstanding salaries and bonuses dating back to 2004.

The 36-year-old winger, who is currently without a club, says he needs money urgently to save his dying mother but, the Phobians management have turned a deaf ear to his regular notice to their office.

And according to him, Hearts will be relegated soon and later collapse if they continue in that tangent while his mother continues to suffer on the sick bed.

“I can’t lie against Hearts of Oak, they owe me ¢7,000 and must pay me before my mother dies else something terrible will happen to the club,” Bortey told Otec FM

“If they they don’t owe such an amount, they should not pay the money and see if they can win the Ghana Premier League or survive relegation and collapse. What I’ve done for them, no player can do that in recent times. What Shamo Quaye did for Hearts of Oak, I came to continue and nobody has been able to better it since,” he said.

“When I said I’m bigger than Hearts of Oak, they thought I was lying. They will soon know that I’m bigger than the club and I’m not bragging. I’m even better than all the players currently at the club and can play better them so they should not joke with me because I’m the son of God.

When Don Bortey arrived in Kumasi and almost signed for Kotoko

He added: “They want my mother to die and buried before they pay me the money but it will not happen like that, although, I regret not joining Asante Kotoko. I believe things wouldn’t have been like this if I took that chance in the past.”

Hearts are without a major trophy since 2009 after they last lifted the premier league title. Currently, there seem to be a little confusion after head coach Frank Elliott Nuttall was suspended indefinitely with rumours suggesting that he fell out with his backroom staff.

Bortey was part of the squad that won the 2004 Caf Confederation Cup title after defeating bitter rivals Asante Kotoko in the final.

Asante Kotoko close in on former Hearts defender Atingah

The former Phobians superstar could likely play at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium in the upcoming season

Ghana FA Cup champions Asante Kotoko have began negotiations with former Hearts of Oak defender Vincent Atingah according to reports in the local news, AshesGyamera understands.

The 24-year-old centre-back parted ways with the Phobians after the end of last season, following the expiration of his contract and was linked with a move to an unnamed club in Europe.

However, the negotiations felled through and Atingah was spotted in the Gulf region earlier this year but returned to Accra few weeks ago.

And Kotoko top hierarchy is rumoured to have met his counsel this week with a three-year contract, in a bid to to strengthen their defence for the premier league and Caf Confederation Cup, if they make it to the group stages since they are left with Wahab Adams, Awudu Nafiu and Emmanuel Owusu as the only centre-backs.

Richard Osei Agyemang pushing a move away from the club due to lack of playing time and reports suggest he will likely join Ashanti Gold on loan.

Kotoko have also lost the services of Awal Mohammed, Ahmed Adams and Abeiku Ainooson with the latter leaving the club as a free agent.

Atingah joined Hearts of Oak from Ebusua Dwarfs and was part of the Ghana squad that won the 2017 Wafu Cup of Nations held in Cape Coast, Ghana.

Kurt Okraku can’t be GFA president, I’m better than him – Yakubu

New Edubiase United bankroller Abdul Salam Yakubu has argued that he is far ahead in terms of ranking to ascend the Ghana Football Association’s presidency throne ahead of Dreams FC director Kurt E.S Okraku.

Yakubu who has openly declared his support behind George Afriyie to succeed Kwesi Nyantakyi in 2019 believes Okraku can’t be a match to his candidate since he is even better than him.

“Kurt Okraku has not reached the level of becoming the president of Ghana Football Association,” Yakubu told Light FM.

“I am even ahead of him [in succeeding Kwesi Nyantakyi as the president] so he should stop bragging on various radio stations and television stations that it is his time to be the president.

“How can he become the football president when some people around are far knowledgeable than him in terms of football issues. He came to meet me around,” he added.

AshesGyamera revealed this week that Afriyie went to Brong Ahafo region to meet some delegates ahead of the elections in 2019 since Nyantakyi revealed that he won’t seek another term in office.

Okraku’s Dreams FC was entangled in criminalities and fraud last season, after Court of Arbitration for Sports (CAS) ruled that they forged the name of Cudjoe Mensah and registered him as Daniel Gozar. The decision saw Dreams demoted to the second-tier with Tema Youth replacing them and the player banned one year.

The winger has become the latest addition to the Army Men after signing a two-and-half-year deal

Ghana international Edwin Gyasi has joined Bulgarian giants CSKA Sofia from Norwegian club FK Aalesund after completing all the mandatory paperwork on Thursday.

The 26-year-old was on his way to English side Sunderland during the January transfer window but the deal fell through after they failed to match the asking price of FK Aalesund.

“CSKA have signed with the Ghanaian national player Edwin Gyasi. The management has agreed on his rights with his former club Aalesunds FK club from Norway, and today the player initiated his personal contract,” club statement read.

“Gyasi is a Dutchman at birth, and grows up in the country where he builds himself as a footballer. Because of his Ghanaian parents, he received an invitation to play for the African country for which he recorded two matches and one goal against Egypt in the last World Cup qualifiers. We wish Edwin Gyasi a lot of health, luck and success with the red team,” the statement added.

Gyasi believes this opportunity will provide him the chance to win trophies in Bulgaria.

“I can not wait to start training with the team. I am glad to be part of the greatest Bulgarian club, in which world known players such as Stoichkov and Berbatov have played,” Gyasi told the club’s website.

“The ambition for trophies and big games in Europe has brought me to CSKA. Roland Alberg told me about the fantastic fans and the good atmosphere in the club, ” he added.

Gyasi scored 13 goals in 53 caps for Aalesund during his stay in Norway.
