Niibi Osekan places another injunction on Ghana Premier League

The gentleman insists that he is a gracious informant who wants the football association to put its house in order before the start of the new season

An Accra-based football fan, Mr. Enoch Niibi Osekan has placed an injunction on the start of the 2017-18 Ghana Premier League season.

According to the gentleman, he wrote to Fifa a letter to Fifa in December last year asking them advise Ghana FA to apply their general regulations in the case involving Ghana FA and Great Olympics since the latter’s petition/protests against Elmina Sharks and Bechem United were wrongfully thrown out.

In a reply sighted by AshesGyamera, Fifa responded on February 12, advising that it is purely an internal matter, hence Ghana FA has to do the needful but per Mr. Osekan’s satisfaction, nothing realistic has been done about it.

Past sports ministers under NDC government left behind ¢51 million debt, says Hon. Asiamah

Ghana’s youth and sports minister, Isaac Asiamah, has made an interesting revealation during the Meet the Press in Accra on Tuesday solely on the state of sports in the country.

According to the Atwima Mponua member of parliament, the previous ministers in that sector under the watch of the past government, embezzled funds and left behind huge debts which has made his tenure a bit frustrating.

“I am sorry to report to you that we met a negative balance of ¢51 million, that is the debt we inherited… There was nothing at the Ministry of Youth and Sports,” Hon Asiamah said.

“All these things that have been able to happen are through creative minds that’s what has happened here. So if we have been able to achieve a lot, that is why I am grateful to my able lieutenants, they are creative people and they are helping us to achieve a lot at the Ministry of Youth and Sports”.

He added: “As it’s said, you come and fix challenge, so we are fixing the challenge through creative means.”

Asiamah succeeded Nii Lantey Vanderpuye after New Patriotic Party won the 2016 general elections.

According to AshesGyamera sources, the figure quoted by the minister has a lot of weight but, majority of the debts incurred date back to contracts awarded during Ghana’s hosting of the 2008 Africa Cup of Nations tournament, since subsequent governments and ministers failed to settle the debtors.

Completed market left unused at Mpobi, 18 years after commissioning

Traders at Mpobi in the Afigya Kwabre district in the Ashanti region have refused to do business in an ultra-modern market 18 years after commissioning which was constructed at the cost of Five Hundred million old Ghana Cedis (GHC 500, 000,000).

The market project was completed in March, 2000 and commissioned by the former first lady Nana Konadu Agyeman Rawlings but traders have failed to utilize the facility, siting wrong location as their reason for abandoning the market.

The traders told OTEC news that the new market was too far from town, therefore no one was interested in walking there to do business. They said sending perishable items such as vegetables to the new market was a burden on traders because the goods get rotten easily and costing them a fortune.

The traders argued that construction of the market could have been substituted for a school in order to attract school going children from adjoining communities.

Mpobihene Nana Akwasi Akyeampong stated that recalcitrant traders in and around Mpobi community have chosen to sell their wares at several unauthorized places.

Nana Akwasi Akyeampong intimated that he done everything possible to get the traders relocated but they have always proved to be recalcitrant.

Assembly member for the Mpob electoral area, Yakubu Issifu, expressed his commitment get the traders to the abandoned ultra-modern market. Yakubu Issifu disclosed that the absence of bye -laws to regulate hawkers in the Mpobi community was an incentive to traders to keep hawking around the community.

“I am making all efforts in collaboration with the unit committee members to cut down the tree which provide shade for the recalcitrant traders in order to relocate them to the new market” Yakubu Issifu stressed.

He promised to help the relocation all traders selling at unapproved by the end of 2018.

Zylofon boss Nana Appiah Mensah apologises to Stonebwoy

The Zylofon record label boss has issued a statement to settle issues with the dancehall artist following the fracas last weekend

The owner and bankroller of Zylofon Group of Companies Nana Appiah Mensah (NAM 1) has send a heartfelt apology to dancehall artist Stonebwoy after his car was almost forcefully taken from him on Saturday.

Stonebwoy’s camp was alleged to have ordered that all Zylofon materials be taken down before and during his performance at University of Ghana despite the former being the sponsors that night.

That action, according to reports, led to some section of the Zylofon crew led by the transport manager to attack Stonebwoy and tried to take away his Benz which they insisted that it belonged to the their company at the Champs Bar, and the musician gave out some warning shots to disperse the crew and later drove off.

Stonebwoy was signed to Zylofon Music label last year but he has shown signs of unhappiness following the arrival of his rival Shatta Wale, especially the hype that surrounded his signing and unveiling.

AshesGyamera understands that the traffic manager has been suspended indefinitely but Stonebwoy is in the process of officially cancel his contract with the label since he feels unsecured.

Koomson & Yahaya have shown me that I’m a fool, Eleven Wonders owner cries foul

Techiman Eleven Wonders bankroller Nana Ameyaw has revealed that former Asante Kotoko midfielder Larbi Koomson and former King Faisal captain Iddrisu Yahaya have gone AWOL from the club after disagreement on their residential situations.

The duo, who joined the Ghana Premier League newbies few months ago and were part of the club’s squad that participated in the Ghalca G8 tournament, rejected the apartment secured for them by club, insisting that it doesn’t meet their standard.

“The two players have duped me and shown me that I’m a fool to give them part payment of the contracts they signed with my club,” Nana Ameyaw said.

“The contracts they signed were two and three years each. I’ve even rented a ‘self-contain’ apartment for them but they’ve refused to stay there, packed all their belongings and left without a word.”

He added: “I will everything to God because I don’t want to have any discussion with them anymore. It’s God who settles issues for the fool so I leave things in his hands.

“If my club’s management members will hold talks with them again, that won’t include myself.”

Wonders will host Hearts of Oak on opening day of the season if the legal tussle between Ghana Football Association and Great Olympics is settled in the coming days.

Kumi Guitar jabs Stonebwoy on Zylofon brouhaha, calls him ‘selfish’

As the beef continues between dancehall guru Livingstone Etse Setekla known in showbiz as Stonebwoy and Zylofon Music record label, Highlife act Kumi Guitar, who’s a member of the latter has joined the fray to throw shots at his ‘former’ colleague describing him as selfish.

According to Kumi, Stonebwoy has persistently shown signs of selfishness and has always gone contrary to what is expected of him as an ambassador of Zylofon which led to the signing of his fierce rival Shatta Wale.

The decision to bring on board Shatta Wale, of course, did not go down well with Stonebwoy and the latter has even revealed that he wasn’t notified and wouldn’t have joined if they alerted him initially that another dancehall artist will be on board later.

“I was the first artist to be signed onto Zylofon but no one informed me when you Stonebwoy was getting signed,” Kumi Guitar told Zylofon FM.

“Stop being selfish because I wasn’t even informed when Becca, Joyce Blessing or even Obibini were being signed. So why is Stonebwoy acting this way saying he wasn’t informed about Shatta’s signing. Does he own shares in the company to be informed before the label takes such decisions?” he quizzed.

“What I heard was that you got angry because Shatta [Wale] was signed. If you won’t give him what he wants, automatically he [Nana Appiah Mensah – Zylofon Media CEO] will fail to give you what you want or better still, he will go look for somebody who can do the job for him if you cannot do it.

He added: “You are an ambassador representing Zylofon, how many times are you hashtagging Zylofon? This is where our boss also has a problem and he has told you several times, you’ve gone for meetings?”

On Saturday, it was reported that Stonebwoy clashed with some crew members of Zylofon at an event organised by University of Ghana and sponsored by Zylofon Cash but Stonebwoy’s manager Black Ceddi, according to reports, instructed the organisers that all materials on stage, behind and beside it bearing Zylofon’s inscriptions and adverts must be taken down before his artist will perform and that was actually done.

The decision raised eyebrows especially when Bulldog of Zylofon fame was notified and that led to a scuffle behind the stage.

It was later reported that some members of Zylofon crew followed Stonebwoy to the Champs bar where his ‘apprentice’ Kelvin Boy was having his concert in a bid to seize a car and other items given him by Zylofon which resulted into chaos as Stonebwoy fired some gunshots to protect himself and other properties.

AshesGyamera understands that Kumi Guitar has taken the beef to another level by actually releasing a diss track for Stonebwoy while the Traffic manager of Zylofon has also been fired after the confusion with Stonebwoy.

Allegri denies talks to replace Wenger at Arsenal

Juventus coach Max Allegri has insisted thata there is no proposal or talks between him and Arsenal in a bid to replace embattled Arsene Wenger after the season.

Wenger has come under increasing pressure following Arsenal’s shambolic performance in the Premier which sees them currently sitting sixth on the log and likely to miss Uefa Champions League slot unless they win the Europa League trophy.

“No, [there is no talks or contract]. I’m not even studying!” Allegri told Mediaset Premium.

Juventus defeated Udinese 2-0 on Sunday thanks to a brace from Paulo Dybala to go atop of the Serie A table and the side’s performance has been lauded by the manager.

“We haven’t achieved anything yet, as the season ends in May,” he said.

“On Wednesday, we got past Tottenham to reach the next Champions League round, we beat Udinese and can now focus on Atalanta.

“We suffered a little at the start today, but can only compliment the players for doing so well. Dybala is improving, the two goals against Lazio and Spurs gave him a boost mentally.

“Gonzalo Higuain is doing well too, even if he didn’t convert the penalty, as he provided the assist for Dybala’s second goal. On Wednesday there’s another crucial game that we have to win against Atalant,” he added.

Juventus have qualified to the quarterfinals of the Champions League after eliminating Premier League Tottenham Hotspur last week.

Why there was gunshots when Zylofon clashed with Stonebwoy

Dancehall artiste Livingstone Etse Setekla aka Stonebwoy has explained why he fired gunshots at the Champs Bar in Accra last night.

According to him, he did that to defend himself of any gruesome attack that may have been launched on him.

When King Lagaze asked him on Hitz FM on Sunday of the reason behind what he did, he asked “have you heard of self-defence before?”

Stonebwoy on Saturday was reported to have been engaged in a scuffle with some officers of his record label, Zylofon Music, who had gone to the premises to take from him, a car purported to have been given to him by the company.

Report has it that Stonebwoy had earlier been to the University of Ghana to perform at the Artistes Night of the Hilla Limann Week Celebration. At the behest of Stonebwoy and his management, the organizers took off all Zylofon Media banners. This deepened speculations that the ‘My Name’ hit maker may have severed relationship with Zylofon Media.

Lawrence Nana Asiamah aka Bulldog who is the Artiste and Repertoire Manager for Zylofon Music went to the premise off the show and asked that the cars which were branded in Zylofon insignia were taken away, upon seeing how things branded with Zylofon tags were being disposed off.

Bulldog – Artiste & Repertoire Manager, Zylofon Music

Bulldog almost seized Stonebwoy’s car

By then, Stonebwoy had left for the Champs Bar at the Paloma Hotel where his protégé Kelvin Boy was performing.

According to Stonebwoy, while in a room at the hotel, he sent his brother to fetch him his clothes from his car when he heard noise from outside.

“They hit [my brother] on the lips, they took the car keys from him and they sat in the car…if not for my bodyguard, they would have driven my car away and that would have been something else,” he recounted.

He then fired gunshots to dispel the crowd so they could move the car.

Apparently, Bulldog had followed up with is guys to the Champ Bar to take the car from him but Stonebwoy has stated that the car in question is his personal property and not what Zylofon gave to him.

Background to Stonebwoy and Zylofon Media ‘fight’

In June, 2017, Stonebwoy was signed on to Zylofon Music record label with an undisclosed contractual agreement.

Even though other musicians had been signed before and after Stonebwoy, theories have it that he may not have liked the idea of Zylofon Media signing his arch-rival Shatta Wale.

Shatta Wale’s signing was greeted with razzmatazz, pomp and pageantry – a situation that was unlike all the signings Zylofon Music had done in the past.

Even though Stonebwoy had congratulated Shatta Wale for joining the Zylofon family he also stated that he was not pre-informed by the management that they were bringing Shatta Wale on board.

In the interview King Lagaze had with him on Sunday evening, reggae presenter Skelly Dread sent a question to the host asking whether Stonebwoy would have signed onto Zylofon Music if they had already signed another dance hall artiste. He responded in the negative.

Even though Stonebwoy and Zylofon have not come out to announce anything pertaining to the abrogation of contract with Stonebwoy, it appears all is not well with the two parties and a possible break up is imminent.

This comes on the back of recent innuendos made by Shatta Wale about Stonebwoy’s Ghc 5,000 donation to the accident ward of the Korle-bu Teaching Hospital. Stonebwoy went there without any reps from the record label.

He followed up with another post: “ Stonebwoy stop that silly thing ooo ibe so samini do weh a kill am lyrically .. this beef u deh try start u can’t WiN and you know from your dear heart ..I AM ZYLOFON ..are you ZYLOFON.. ? Answer me ..”

The personal manager of Stonebwoy, Black Sidi also took to social media to reply Shatta Wale in a similar fashion.

“Somebody Tell My Good Friend We Wont Mind Him…We Are Busy Rehearsing For SummerJam And Reggae Sumfest 2018. #BhimNationGlobal ” he wrote on Facebook.

Attempts to get parties involved to speak to the matter have not been successful.

Meanwhile, the Chief Executive Officer of Zylofon Media, Nana Appiah Mensah has asked fans of Stonebwoy, Shatta Wale and his company to stay calm as they solve the problem.

Nana Appiah Mensah (CEO – Zylofon)
“I urge all well wishers of@shattawalegh, @stonebwoyb and @ZylofonMedia to remain very calm. Whatever differences, as with all human institutions would be resolved in the most civil and decorous fashion. Ghana shall prosper.#zylofonmusic #Ghanamusic #Ghanawi,” he wrote on his social media platforms.

Earlier, Nana Appiah Mensah and Zylofon Media had unfollowed Stonebwoy on twitter.

Aduana’s Opoku stops father from arresting Sassraku, despite losing a tooth after bust-up

The midfielder has revealed that he has forgiven his team-mate despite their fight at training grounds on Saturday

Aduana Stars midfielder Elvis Opoku says he stopped his father from lodging a formal complaint at the Police Station after the misunderstanding at training grounds which later ended up in a fight.

The former Bibiani Gold Stars poster boy was engaged in the unfortunate incident following a rush tackle by defender Stephen Anokye Badu on Zakaria Mumuni which Sassraku stood behind the defender bringing confusion among the team-mates.

“My family was furious after hearing about the incident. Especially my dad. He wanted to take up the matter with the police but I said no,” Opoku said, as quoted by Footballmadeinghana.

“It happened and it’s in the past. No amount of talk will put my lost teeth back. We’ve to move on as a team to ensure that we qualify to the money zone of the CAF Champions League.

“I don’t know what came over him. The issue was not even between the two of us. It was between Zakaria Mumuni and Stephen Anokye Badu. I went in to calm nerves. This is how I ended up but I’ve forgiven him,” he added.

Opoku insists he still sees Sassraku as a friend and brother and has shifted his attention to the second leg of the Caf Champions League last qualifying round against E.S Setif in Algeria.

“He is still my best friend. As friends, these things normally happen. That’s what tests the strength of your friendship,” he said.

” I don’t want him to be down because we need him on Sunday against the Algerians as we strive to qualify to the next stage of the CAF Champions League.”

AshesGyamera understands that Aduana management will likely drop the two players from the squad that will travel to Algeria if the club’s owner Nana Agyeman Badu gives his approval.

Aduana’s Sassraku trades blows with Elvis Opoku at training ahead of Setif clash

Of course, football would be nothing without emotion, as the duo were caught in a heated argument which resulted to a serious fight

Aduana Stars striker Derrick Sassraku and midfielder Elvis Opoku were involved in a training grounds bust-up on Saturday ahead of the return leg against Algerian side E.S Setif, AshesGyamera can confirm.

The incident, according to our sources, happened after a rush-tackle from Stephen Anokye Badu on winger Zakaria Mumuni but Sasrasku stood behind Badu despite concerns from other team-mates, insisting that it wasn’t intentional but Opoku comments afterwards saw tempers flare off the field before things went from bad to worse, although, other teammates tried to step in as mediators.

According to reports Opoku was rushed to the Presbyterian General Hospital in Dormaa Ahenkro after Opoku suffered minor cuts and damage to his teeth.

However, it is unclear if Opoku can recover on time to be part of the club’s 18-man to travel to Algeria for the return fixture of the Caf Champions League last qualifying round since he must pass late fitness test by the club’s medical team.

AshesGyamera has tried to contact the management of Aduana but all efforts have ended up fruitless as the club is not ready to comment on the issue currently.
