The teenager has not given up on life and education despite getting pregnant along the way and now shares the same educational facility with her son
Teenage mother Rita Awuni returned to school in February 2021 after getting pregnant and giving birth to her son Sampson Awuni.
The 17-year-old, who is also an orphan and relatively does everything by herself before she can fend for her son, attends the same school with Sampson.
Awuni sends him to the kindergarten class every morning when she arrives on campus before she also goes to her class to learn.
During break, she then quickly attends to him and then breastfeed him.
“Oh, he (Sampson) goes to the KG side and I go to breastfeed or give him koko at break time”, Awuni said as quoted by Senyuiedzorm Awusi Adadevoh.
“Rita Is a nursing mother but vying to finish school,” her headmistress spoke good of her.
Life after school doesn’t look good for Rita as she sleeps together with her son at the art centre. Aside that, she has been spotted selling pure water for their upkeep.
“I [only] need things to sell and a place to sleep with my son,” she said.
