The winger was named as part of the Black Stars’ 24-man squad for the upcoming double header next week
Ghana midfielder Mohammed Kudus will not play a part in the upcoming Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers against Ivory Coast and Gambia on September 24 and 29 respectively, a source close to the player has revealed.
The 26-year-old received an invitation from Black Stars coach Carlos Queiroz on Friday, making a comeback to the team for the first time since picking up an injury in January and eventually missing the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
Although, Kudus featured in Tottenham’s 3-2 home defeat to Aston Villa and even provided an assist, he has opted to sit out of the international break to concentrate on fully recovering from his injury.
Reports suggest that his place could be filled by a local player if the Ghana Football Association are not able to facilitate a swift invitation to one of the European-based players.
