The goalkeeper mutually terminated his contract with the Porcupine Warriors bringing to an end a decade of successful marriage

Former Ghana goalkeeper Abubakar Damba has advised former Asante Kotoko captain Felix Annan to carefully choose his next club.

The 26-year-old mutually terminated his contract with Kotoko a fortnight ago after ten years at the club.

Although, a section of Ghanaians believe Annan deserved a better treatment from the club, Damba believes he should join a club with lower expectations so that he can recover from the lost form and motivation.

“He needs to give himself some new challenges and opportunities. For me, he wants a new challenge and needs to take some time off so he gets his mental stability back,” Damba said.

“It is very important, else he will fail woefully. He should move on, Kotoko is always there and he can always make a return. He has played there for a decade.

“There is no opportunity at the club now and he must move on.

“If I was him, I will go to a team with less pressure and play every game so that he can regain his confidence. I would wish to take him to Real Tamale United. I can sacrifice to help Felix Annan get back to his best,” he added.

Annan only made four league appearances for Kotoko last season after losing his starting place in the team to Kwame Baah and later Razak Abalora.

He is currently in United Kingdom with his wife and reports suggest he may travel to United States of America for a trial before he returns to Ghana.

The 2021/22 Ghana Premier League season will kick off on October 29 but the registration window for players will close on October 9.
