Mudasiru, Gyasi and others handed Black Stars call up ahead of World Cup

Ghana coach Otto Addo has announced a provisional 55-man squad for 2022 Fifa World Cup which will hosted in Qatar.

The Black Stars, who have been paired with Portugal, South Korea and Uruguay in Group H will begin their preparations for the tournament next week.

Exclusive: AshantiGold set to drag Ghana FA to court over ‘cancellation’ of Yaw Annor’s transfer to Ismaily

The Aboakese are preparing to enter another legal battle with the country’s football governing body following its decision not to sanction the sale of last season’s Premier League topscorer

Ashanti Gold are on the verge of entering another legal tussle with Ghana Football Association few weeks after successfully placing an injunction on 2022/23 Ghana Premier League season, AshesGyamera.com can report.

The Obuasi-based club’s top hierarchy, who are already challenging what they term as ‘unfair’ demotion from Ghana’s top flight to the third tier despite initially being found guilty of match-fixing, believe they are being sabotaged after the sale of former striker Yaw Annor to Egyptian club Ismaily was not sanctioned by the Football Association.

Annor, who won Ghana Premier League goal king last season after netting 22 goals, signed a reported five-year deal with Ismaily on July 5 under the supervision of AshantiGold bankroller Kwaku Frimpong.

However, after Ismaily officially wrote to Ghana FA for International Transfer Certificate (ITC) to register Annor for the new season, their request was turned down citing ‘other reason.’

Ghana FA interestingly gave a remark that Annor can only be registered as a FREE AGENT since “the club AshantiGold has been suspended by the GFA and therefore cannot transfer players.”

“The player can therefore be registered as a FREE PLAYER by your club,” the remark added.

How Ghana cancelled Yaw Annor’s ITC transfer request

This implies that Ashanti Gold do not have the right to sell the player to Ismaily and will not officially receive any transfer fee neither will they also have any percentage of a potential onward transfer should Annor leaves Ismaily one day.

Moreover, Ghana FA will not receive the mandated ten per cent from the initial total transfer fee to Ashanti Gold and that decision has gotten Dr. Kwaku Frimpong and his management infuriated and have threatened to test the law once again.

It will be recalled that Ashanti Gold were demoted to third tier (second division) on May 16 after they were found guilty of playing match of convenience against Inter Allies during 2020/21 Ghana Premier League season.

Ashanti Gold thrashed Inter Allies 7-0 with defender Hasmin Musa scoring two own goals in the process. After the game, Musa revealed that he scored the own goals to destroy a correct scoreline that was arranged ahead of kick off.

The club president Dr. Kwaku Frimpong was charged for breaching Article 27(1)(2) of the GFA Code of Ethics 2019; Article 18(1) of the GFA Disciplinary
Code, 2019, and Article 34(5)(a)(b) of the GFA Premier League Regulations 2019 and later found guilty, fined $13,000 and banned from football and it related activities for ten years.

However, Ashanti Gold were allowed to complete the previous season since the entire decision was expected to take effect from the start of 2022/23 football season.

After only three matches into the new season, the Premier League was halted as Ashanti Gold filed an injunction at Accra’s Human Rights Court arguing that the Ghana FA’s decision to demote the club had infringed its rights as they were denied the proceedings used to rule against them.

The case has been adjourned to October 20 and the judge is expected to enter into the matter deeply as a hearing is expected to take place.

SAD NEWS: Black Sherif fails to win 2022 BET Award; Check full list of winners

The fast-rising music star was hoping to become only the second Ghanaian to win the award but it was never meant to be so

Ghana’s music sensation Black Sherif failed to make his history as he could not win Best International Flow category at the BET Hip Hop Awards 2022.

The 21-year-old lost the coveted award to French Rapper Benjamin Epps after he was highly tipped by many music lovers and legends.

Sherif, whose First and Second Sermon made him a household name, became a global icon after realising new song Kwaku The Traveller which has enjoyed massive airplay across the globe.

However, Epps was believed to have done enough than the Ghanaian and other competitors like Central Cee (UK), Blxckie (South Africa), Haviah Mighty (Canada), Knucks (UK), Le Juiice (France), Nadia Nakai (Zimbabwe) and Tasha & Tracie of Brazil.

Sherrif would’ve become only the second Ghanaian after Sarkodie to win the award since its establishment in 2019.

King Sark became the maiden winner when he shrugged off competitions from UK’s Lil Simz and Ghetts as well as Falz (Nigeria), Kalash (France), Nasty C (South Africa) and Tory Lanez (Canada).

After Sarkodie lifted the diadem in 2019, UK rapper with Ghanaian descent Stormzy became second winner before Lil Simz won it after losing to the Ghanaian two years before.

King Faisal sack Serbian coach Bozovic after three games

The Inshallah Boys have mutually parted ways with the coach after failing to pick a single point this season

Ghana Premier League side King Faisal have officially parted ways with their coach Branko Bozovic.

Bozovic failed to pick a single point after three games in charge this season; losing to Berekum Chelsea, Aduana and Great Olympics

He joins Samuel Boadu as coaches sacked so far.

Reports in the local media suggest that former Asante Kotoko assistant coach Prince Acheampong Sabuto could be named to take the club on an interim basis.

Pictures: Samuel Boadu spotted watching Division One League game after Hearts sacking

The Phobians former boss was in attendance over the weekend in Abrankese to watch a lower division game after his sack

Hearts of Oak former coach Samuel Boadu was spotted watching Division One League game when Nations FC defeated Swedru All Blacks 3-1 at Kwame Kyei Sports Complex in Abrankese near Kuntenase on Sunday.

The 38-year-old was given the sack last week after Hearts shared the spoils 1-1 with Asante Kotoko in Ghana Premier League, making it zero wins after three games this season.

Although, Boadu won five trophies with Hearts in only two seasons including one Premier League title and two FA Cups, recent poor run of results made it necessary for the club’s top hierarchy to kick him out.

Following Boadu’s exit from Hearts, the Phobians are rumoured to have closed in on former Asante Kotoko coach Prosper Ogum Narteh who tendered in his resignation several weeks ago.

It has become quite possible for Ogum to replace Boadu after one of his assistants at Kotoko David Ocloo was named as Hearts’ new assistant coach on Sunday.

Hearts of Oak appoint former Kotoko coach as new assistant

The Phobians have named the former Porcupine Warriors assistant coach as the club’s new assistant as they work to bring on board new head coach

Former Asante Kotoko assistant coach David Ocloo joins rivals Hearts of Oak after leaving the Kumasi-based club few weeks ago.

The 38-year-old left Kotoko when his former boss Prosper Ogum Narteh(Dr) opted to resign from his position due to disagreement with the club’s top hierarchy.

Reports are rife in the local media that Ogum may also join Hearts following the Phobians decision to sack Samuel Boadu.

Hearts are in a dire need of a coach as the club are without a win after three games this season
