The Black Stars gaffer has come under intense pressure following his side’s defeat to Bafana Bafana on Monday in the World Cup qualifiers

Ghana coach Charles Kwablah Akonnor has been advised to consider resigning from his post by veteran coach J.E Sarpong.

According to Sarpong, Akonnor can vacate his post if he feels top members of Ghana Football Association are dictating for him

“CK Akonnor was appointed by the current leadership of the Ghana Football Association [GFA] but it seems some people are pulling the strings,” Sarpong said.

“He now have two assistant coaches but still struggling to grind the results.

“If CK Akonnor feels he is being dictated to and being left frustrated, I will only urge him to walk out from the job because when you employ somebody to work for you, give him or her that free hands to work but in the case of the Black Stars that is not what we are seeing.

“It is frustrating because we need the team to get the needed results,” he added.

Akonnor previously had stints with Hearts of Oak, Asante Kotoko and Ashanti Gold just like his first assistant coach David Duncan.

Ghana will host Zimbabwe next month in the third game of the group and a win is imminent for Akonnor or else he could be shown the exit.
