Hearts of Oak have signed defender Christopher Bonney in a three-year deal after impressing head coach Frank Elliott Nuttall during his trial, the club have confirmed.
The 19-year-old arrived in Accra from Ebusua Dwarfs as a free agent after opting not to extend his stay in Cape Coast despite being promised a lucrative offer.
Bonney has officially become the first major singing of Hearts of Oak as they prepare to end their nine-year run without a trophy.
“I’m excited of course, it’s always a happy moment to join Hearts,” Bonney said.
“I’ll do my best to command first team place and help the club in the upcoming season. I thank everyone who made this dream a reality and promise not to disappoint them,” he added.
Bonney previously had stint with Hearts’ fierce rivals Asante Kotoko but he felled down the pecking order because of the presence of skipper Amos Frimpong.
