The top-flight’s debutants coach has left his position and he is now heading back to Germany
Accra Lions head coach Rainer Kraft has vacated his position on Wednesday after two years in charge, AshesGyamera.com can confirm.
The 59-year-old joined the Lions in 2019 and guided them to qualify to play in Ghana Premier League for the first time.
Although, the club has enjoyed a good start in the league, Kraft has vacated his position citing personal reasons.
“Rainer Kraft had a very successful spell in his two years as Head Coach of Accra Lions Football Club that was crowned with winning the Division One Championship and gaining the Ghana Premier League promotion this year,” Nana Obiri Yeboah, CEO of Accra Lions said.
“We are very grateful for everything he has done to develop our club forward and wish him well for the future.”
Kraft played 124 games with Lions and won 83, lost 16 and shared the spoils in 25.
Lions scored 266 goals in the process and conceded 115 goals.
AshesGyamera understand that assistant coach James Francis will now fill the void as caretaker coach until substantive coach is appointed.
