The Black Stars shot-stopper was handed his first full debut with the Buccaneers as the were held at home on Wednesday evening

Ghana goalkeeper Richard Ofori marked his debut for Orlando Pirates in a 1-1 stalemate against Stellenbosch in the Premier Soccer League at the Orlando Stadium on Wednesday.

The 26-year-old joined the Buccaneers in a three-year deal from Maritzburg United a week ago after helping the Team of Choice to achieve success over the years.

Despite Pirates taking the lead by the 32nd minute through Ntsiekelelo Nyauzu, Nathan Sinkala pulled even for the visitors ten minutes later. The Zambian met a cross by teammate Jayden Adams and goalkeeper Ofori could not do anything but his effort.

However, Ofori saved Pirates from going behind in the game on the stroke of half time as he blocked a shot by Du Pereez. He also made two important saves after the break as Pirates held on to record their first point of the season.

Since Ofori arrived in the South African Premier Soccer League with Maritzburg United from Wa All Stars in 2017, he made 29 clean sheets in 85 league games.
