The Porcupine Warriors boss has thrown his weight behind the Cameroonian striker who missed two crucial penalties that could’ve seen them closer to lifting the Premier League title

Asante Kotoko coach Prosper Ogum Narteh has told striker Mbella Etouga not to worry despite failing to help Kotoko pick three points against Aduana Stars on matchday 28 of Ghana Premier League at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium on Sunday.

After scoring the first goal through a stunner, Etouga had the opportunity to double Kotoko’s lead by the 68th minute when his countryman Georges Mfegue Rodrigues was brought down in Aduana Stars’ box. However, his last ditch effort was saved by goalkeeper Joseph Addo.

Kotoko had another opportunity to extend their lead as Stephen Amankona was also felled in the box by one of Aduana’s defenders. Etouga stepped up to effect the kick and his effort was denied by the goalpost.

Bright Agyei left it late to snatch the equaliser for Aduana on the stroke of full time when he met a Emmanuel Gyamfi’s cross.

“You still have my support, Franck Mbella. Keep the fire burning 🔥. Much love,” Ogum posted on his official Twitter page on Monday morning.

Despite missing two penalties, Etouga still leads the goal king race with 19 goals, three goals ahead of Ashanti Gold winger Yaw Annor who failed to hit the back of the net against Medeama on Sunday.

Next week, Kotoko will travel to Obuasi to face Ashanti Gold in the Ashanti derby at the Len Clay Sports Stadium.
