African qualifying competition for the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 resumes, with matchday 3 taking place across the continent on Tuesday, 12th October 2021.
The Black Stars of Ghana take on Zimbabwe in the fourth game of the 2022 Fifa World Cup qualifiers at the Harare National Sports Stadium on Tuesday.
A win is imminent for Milovan Rajevac and his charges as it is the only result that would make sure that their chances of qualifying to the Fifa World Cup is still realistic.
Milovan surprisingly dropped captain Andre Ayew in the squad that defeated Zimbabwe 3-1 in the first leg of the Fifa World Cup qualifiers.
Ayew, who scored Ghana’s third goal in the first leg has been left on the bench for striker Benjamin Tetteh.
Also, youngster Abdul Fatawu Issahaku has been replaced by Real Mallorca’s midfielder Baba Iddrisu, according to AshesGyamera’s sources.
Issahaku who was handed his debut in the first leg will likely be dropped to the bench despite impressing must watch from the bench and hope to come in later
In his place, Real Mallorca midfielder Iddrisu Baba will take over and partner Arsenal star Thomas Teye Partey to provide a balance to the team.
Although, a lot of Ghanaians have criticised the consistent use of Crystal Palace striker, he will still maintain his position.
The 30-year-old has failed to score in his last 47 games for club and country. However, he was able to provide an assist for Ghana’s opening goal against Zimbabwe in the first leg at Cape Coast Sports Stadium last weekend.
Meanwhile, goalkeeper Jojo Wollacot has been maintained in post after his wonderful debut for Ghana on Saturday. He will start ahead of Richard Attah, Danlad Ibrahim and Lawrence Ati-Zigi.
Milovan also maintained the back four of Daniel Amartey, Baba Rahman, Alexander Djiku and Jonathan Mensah while Andre Ayew leads the attack.
South Africa will face Ethiopia in the other game of the group at the Soccer City Sports Stadium I Johannesburg later in the day.
