“Jordan Ayew should always be a bench player for Ghana,” Former sports minister Nii Lanteh Vanderpuye explains why

The former minister in charge of Youth and Sports has insisted that the younger one among the Ayew brothers should always be on the Black Stars bench

Former Ghana Youth and Sports minister Nii Lanteh Vanderpuye says Crystal Palace forward Jordan Ayew should never start games for Black Stars.

According to Vanderpuye, Ayew is always effective when he start games from the bench as he

“If I was the coach, I wouldn’t have played Jordan Ayew at the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations,” Vanderpuye said in an interview with Joy FM.

“I would’ve played other players like Samuel Owusu. Jordan Ayew performs better when he comes from the bench as he can understand the opponents proper when he sits on the bench and follow the game.”

Vanderpuye further mentioned names of players who impressed him hugely despite Ghana’s poor showing at the Afcon.

“There were however some players who were very impressive. Players who really impressed me were Alexander Djiku, Daniel Kofi Kyereh, Joseph Paintsil, Kamaldeen Sulemana, Abdul Fatawu Issahaku and Samuel Owusu. These players obviously have prospects for the future,” he added.

Ghana failed to win any of their three games in the group stage of the Afcon as they lost to Morocco and minnows Comoros. The Black Stars also drew with Gabon which left them bottom of the table of Group C.

“Stay off…Would you push me to play for Ghana if I’m your son?” Southampton defender Salisu quizzes Alhaji Grusah

The Saints’ centre-back has advised the veteran football administrator not to meddle in his private decision following attempts to lure him play for Ghana in international stage

Southampton defender Mohammed Salisu has advised King Faisal owner Alhaji Karim Grusah to stay off his personal issue after he attempted to lure him to play Ghana.

The 22-year-old has constantly rejected the chance to play for Ghana and Grusah opted to intervene but he was advised to stay away since he wouldn’t have advised his son to change his mind after what Salisu went through in the past.

According to reports, Salisu was asked to pay a bribe before he could be part of the Ghana U-17 national team and has since vowed not to play for the country again.

“The Black Stars Chairman tasked me to speak to Salisu because he’s from Kumasi,” Grusah told Atinka FM.

“I called his dad and he linked me to him. Salisu flatly told me to stay away from his matter. He questioned me that if he was my son, would I advise him to play for Ghana?

“I’m not the only person who has spoken to him. I know CK Akunnor went to him, he said he won’t play.

“Even the GFA President said he found where his mother stays and went to her. I don’t know what happened but Salisu is not ready to play.

“He was angry when I called him. He insisted several times that I should stay out of the matter because he doesn’t want to have any problem with me.

“I’m not going to involve myself in his matter again. I don’t know the problem he has with the GFA but I will not call him again.”

“You’re goro boy of a disappointed GFA presidential candidate,” Kurt Okraku’s aide Tophic blasts Dan Kwaku Yeboah again

The fight between the two journalists seems unending as each party continues to fire salvos

Renowned journalist Dan Kwaku Yeboah has been attacked once again by Sheikh Tophic Seinu, aide of Ghana Football Association president Kurt Okraku, after the former labelled the latter as a goro boy.

In Tophic’s reply to Dan, he has revealed that the Peace FM journalist is someone who helped undercover journalist Anas Aremeyaw Anas to disgrace banned Ghana FA president Kwesi Nyantakyi and later took over the position of Saanie Daara at the FA as the spokesperson.

“Dear Dan Kwaku Yeboah,

Did you call me a goro boy on your show yesterday? Oh, I thought u knew I was a goro loooooong time ago. For your information, it is good to be a goro boy for the GFA President than to be a goro boy for a disappointed GFA Presidential candidate. I am a proud goro boy,” Tophic wrote on Facebook.

“Your level of envy and jealousy is the reason u are where u are today.

“You were the greatest critic of Ibrahim Sannie Dara, the biggest sports journalist the country has ever been blessed with.

“I recall when he said u went bonkers on your show, you had to consult a dictionary to really understand him. Sorry, for an agric student like u, I can’t blame u for consulting a dictionary before understanding Sannie.

“Sannie is an international award winning journalist, not the kind of locally skewed awards u win, yet, u always denigrated him, lashed and dragged him in the mud, simply because u were envious of his position.

“Few days after you teamed up with Anas to crush the Nyantakyi-led FA, the whole world saw your envy, hatred and jealousy when you jumped onto Sannie’s position with alacrity. Such a person like you have no moral right to have a say in any intellectual discourse on football in this country.

“Dan, if u are a journalist worth your salt, you wouldn’t have jumped on Sannie’ job no matter who appointed you. That would have been a true definition of integrity.

“Kwaku, you recall your convo with me when former President Mahama announced the $1.7m for the former Ghanaian players who won the previous AFCONS?

“U were angry with Rev. Osei Kofi and were not even inviting him to your shows because you claimed they should have given u some of the money because you pushed their agenda for them. Oh, what kind of a journalist does this? Oh so u were championing an agenda because of your stomach and not because of humanity as you claim? That is proper goro journalism. Dan banza kawai!

“Dan, after your persistent agenda against KN, your own Kwame Sefa Kayi spitted you on your own show when he said “Kwesi Nyantakyi, wo boɔ nie.” Anyone worth his salt would have stepped down from Peace FM from that very day because it was a direct insult to u. But because u lacked integrity, u laughed it off.

“Dan, if ever there is a convoy on integrity, be a spectator and don’t dare participate because u lack every bit of that word.

“Do you recall the man u started insulting on your shows because u went to him for his car to attend an event and he denied you?

Charlie, as for integrity, don’t go there. U lack every bit of it.

Anyway, thanks for the insults u sent me privately. I’ll keep that audio for posterity.

But let me give you a word of counsel. When u have an issue with your fellow man, be a man and not the opposite by sending audios and insulting anyhow. Ɛno deɛ, ɛnnyɛ.

Last one: gyae ahoɔyaa ne anibrɛ na yɛ kɛse wai, but if you can’t just envy, jealousy and hatred, SHUT UP! 🔥”

Media War: Kurt Okraku’s aide Tophic Seinu fires Dan Kwaku Yeboah; tells him to SHUT UP

The two journalists have opted to trade blows through words after Ghana’s shambolic performance at 2021 Africa Cup of Nations

Veteran journalist Dan Kwaku Yeboah and journalist cum Ghana Football Association’s media team member Sheikh Tophic Seinu has started what many term as media war following exchanges after the Black Stars’ poor run of form at the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations.

According to Yeboah, the Black Stars were poor and any journalist who will defend the terrible performance and further relate it to the sacking of Kwesi Nyantakyi has probably lost his ‘chop money’.

“A lot of people are making comparison and saying a lot of things. Journalists who lost their chop money, I repeat, those who lost their chop money are those criticising the Normalisation Committee,” Yeboah told Asempa FM/Adom TV.

“There was no need to replace C.K Akonnor with Milovan Rajevac. It is certain that Kurt did not like Akonnor leading Ghana and did everything possible to sack him. The end results is all that we see today,” he added.

However, Tophic believes Yeboah is being a hypocrite since he is only trying to pitch Ghana FA president Kurt Okraku and former Ghana coach C.K Akonnor.

“Ghana’s campaign at the AFCON has been super poor and a huge disappointment. But charlie, let’s not take advantage to lie.

C.K Akonnor is who is today in coaching because of Kurt Okraku.

He took him to Eleven Wise where he started his coaching career. Do you recall his partnership with Odartey Lamptey on the bench? Kurt started that with CK. Even when CK, as head coach, led Wise to relegation, Kurt stood by him.

He gave CK his first biggest coaching job when he helped him secure the Hearts of Oak coaching job. Even when he was sacked, he still kept faith with CK and took him to Dreams FC.

He made Dreams FC a home for CK where he could move out and return anytime he wanted.

CK became the Black Stars coach under Kurt, even at a point many felt he was not up for the job.

And u jump up to say Kurt hated CK that’s why he was sacked from the Black Stars?

If this is hatred, then somebody tell Kurt I want him to hate me.

Charlie, the Black Stars were poor at the AFCON but don’t take advantage to start your usual agenda again.

You did it against Kwesi Nyantakyi and during the Normalization Committee era, every rational Ghanaian knew the stuff you are made of. You lost it all because u clearly showed you hated KN because you wanted him out so you could also take over. Alas, we saw it.

I recall when u once told me u fell out with me because I supported someone (KN) u were campaigning against. An honest and objective person wouldn’t do this if indeed u are fighting the course of the country and not your personal interest.

U have started again, against Kurt simply because Black Stars failed. You can do all your propaganda against the man, but charlie, try to be honest.

If everybody will aim a dig at Kurt, you should be the last person to do that.

Your role during the NC era is a testimony.

Shut up Dan Kwaku Yeboah. Shut up!

Ghana FA to hold another meeting with Hudson-Odoi as Chelsea star arrives for holidays

The midfielder arrived in Ghana on Monday for a short holidays and he is expected to hold a meeting with the country’s football governing body over a possible nationality switch

Chelsea midfielder Callum Hodson-Odoi has headed to Ghana for a ten-day vacation after manager Tomas Tuchel gave him some time off the field, the player has confirmed via Twitter on Monday.

Hudson-Odoi, 21, was in action on Sunday when Chelsea defeated Tottenham Hotspur 2-0 in the Premier League but opted to come to Ghana after his manager gave him some time to cool off his head after a difficult start to the season.

The Black Stars have been paired with Nigeria in the final round of 2022 World Cup qualifiers to be played in March and the winner after the two legs will automatically qualify to pick one of the five slots allocated to Africa.
