Breaking News: South Africa FA contemplate on heading to CAS after Fifa rules in Ghana’s favour

Bafana Bafana’s hopes of making it to the World Cup has been dealt a big blow after their protest against Ghana was thrown out by Fifa on Friday

The South African Football Association has hinted that they may head to CAS following the ruling by Fifa in their game against Ghana.

Following Bafana Bafana’s 1-0 defeat to Ghana, SAFA officially wrote to FIFA praying to them for a replay since they believed Senegalese referee Maguitta Ndiaye was manipulated.

However, their case has been thrown out because Fifa insists it did not meet the requirements under article 46 of the Disciplinary Code and article 14 of the Regulations of the Preliminary round of the competition.

“The protest lodged by South Africa has been declared inadmissible by the Disciplinary Committee as it did not meet the requirements foreseen under art. 46 of the FIFA Disciplinary Code and art. 14 of the Regulations of the Preliminary Competition of the FIFA World Cup 2022,” FIFA said in a statement released on Friday.

“The decision is subject to appeal.”

“The South African Football Association (SAFA) will consider its options after the world football governing body (FIFA) dismissed its protest following Bafana Bafana’s controversial 1-0 loss to the Black Stars of Ghana last month,” a SAFA statement read.

SAFA CEO, Advocate Tebogo Monthlante said once SAFA gets reasons for the outcome, will sit down and weigh its options.

“We have received the decision without details and we will request FIFA for the reasons and consider our options.”

BREAKING NEWS: FIFA confirms Ghana’s qualification to play-offs of World Cup qualifiers; officially rejects South Africa’s protest

The World’s football governing body has confirmed that South Africa’s protest filed against Ghana did not have merit and has since rejected it

Fifa have officially rejected South Africa’s protest against Ghana on Friday, one week after AshesGyamera.com exclusively revealed.

The South Africa Football Association pleaded with Fifa to punish Senegalese referee Maguitta Ndiaye and further ensure that their 2022 World Cup qualifying game against Ghana will he replayed since the Black Stars were aided in the 1-0 win.

Andre Ayew scored the only goal after referee Ndiaye awarded Ghana a penalty after Leicester City defender Daniel Amartey was heckled down in the penalty box but officials from South Africa believed that the referee was manipulated prompting a complaint to Fifa.

The further alleged that a Ghanaian official travelled to Senegal to meet referee Ndiaye before the game.

Although, Ghana responded to the allegations on November 20, the official ruling has since not been released.

However, reports in the local media indicate that Fifa has rejected all the allegations leveled against Ghana and the referee and therefore, there will not be any replay as earlier anticipated.

Despite no evidence of match manipulation and fixing, Senegalese referee Ndiaye Maguette, however, will likely be punished with some games ban since his general performance was below average according to the match review panel.

Ghana will now officially participate in the playoffs of the competition and likely lock horns with either Senegal who are currently the best ranked county on the continent.

There is also a possibility of the Black Stars facing Morocco, Nigeria, Tunisia or Mali since these countries complete the top five ranked countries left in the qualifiers.

The official draw for the playoffs has been moved from December to January, 2022 and the games have been scheduled for March 2022.

Video: Napo exposes Teacher Unions; insists Government never thought of providing teachers with laptops

The former minister of Education has shed light on the brouhaha surrounding the laptops being shared to teachers across the country

Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh, affectionately called Napo, has denied reports circulating on social media that he connived with the various Teacher Unions in the country to provide teachers with substandard laptops.

Napo takes his time to explain the brouhaha surrounding the laptops being shared to teachers

The One Teacher One Laptop labelled Teacher Mate 1 (TM1) project was initially rumoured to be an initiative of Napo together with his close allies who are the manufacturers but he has vehemently denied such suggestions and has further dared anyone who has evidence to come out so that he honourably resigns.

He however stressed that it was the various Teacher Unions who came up with such a suggestion in order to reduce the workload of their members.

In a statement signed by the Head of Public Relations, Cassandra Twum Ampofo, of GES, the distribution of the laptops has commenced and teachers at St. Mary’s Girls Senior High School (SHS) have even taken theirs.

The total cost of the TM1 laptop per one, according to the GES is Ghs1, 831.47 and each teacher has been deducted Ghs509 from their annual professional allowance paid in November.

“Distribution of the TM1 has commenced and all teachers at the St. Mary’s Girls SHS have received theirs”, the statement said.

It said, “the supply of the Teacher Mate 1 laptops was an initiative of the Teacher Unions (GNAT NAGRAT, CCT) to procure for all teachers at the pre-tertiary level to enhance the delivery of quality education in terms of planning, research, teaching and reporting”.
