The Phobians have distanced themselves from rumours linking them to former Black Stars deputy coach ahead of the new campaign
Hearts of Oak have denied suggestions that they will appoint former Black Stars assistant coach Ibrahim Tanko as the new head coach, according to Communication director Kwame Opare Addo.
The Phobians are without a head coach since the sacking kf Kim Grant but Opare insists that interim coach Edward Nii Odoom will lead the club as they are in the market for an assistant coach to aid him.
“Ghanaians should take their minds off reports linking Ibrahim Tanko to our club,” Opare Addo told Hello FM.
“We’re looking for an assistant coach. Edward is going to lead the team for the upcoming season as the head coach. When Kim Grant left we made it clear that Odoom has taken place. We didn’t state otherwise. If there is any change we’ll announce it.
“I think we made it clear in the announcement we sent out that Pinto came in as a Technical Director. The issue here is that the Pobiman academy will comprise of U12, U17, the Auroras and the main team. So he was not brought in as head coach of the club but as Technical Director of the club,” he added.
Hearts will travel to Nana Agyemang Badu Park in Dormaa Ahenkro to face Aduana Stars on opening day of Ghana Premier League this Saturday.
