The striker has announced his decision to quit the Black Stars after he was snubbed by C.K Akonnor ahead of the Afcon qualifiers next week
Ghana striker Bernard Mensah has officially announced his decision to temporarily retire from international duties with the Black Stars on Sunday.
The 26-year-old who currently plays for Turkish giants Besiktas posted on Twitter that he would wish to concentrate on club football after carefully thinking about how he wants to mould his future as a footballer.
Although, Mensah who is on loan at Besiktas from Kayserispor, isn’t a poster boy for the Black star like former teammate Asamoah Gyan, he has played six times for Ghana and boasts of one goal.
He was among the 23 players that were called for the international friendly games against Mali and Qatar in October but was overlooked by Akonnor for the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers against Sudan on November 12 and 17 in Cape Coast and Khartoum respectively.
