The midfielder arrived in Ghana on Monday for a short holidays and he is expected to hold a meeting with the country’s football governing body over a possible nationality switch

Chelsea midfielder Callum Hodson-Odoi has headed to Ghana for a ten-day vacation after manager Tomas Tuchel gave him some time off the field, the player has confirmed via Twitter on Monday.

Hudson-Odoi, 21, was in action on Sunday when Chelsea defeated Tottenham Hotspur 2-0 in the Premier League but opted to come to Ghana after his manager gave him some time to cool off his head after a difficult start to the season.

He was in Ghana last year after Chelsea defeated Manchester City to win the coveted Uefa Champions League trophy. During that visit, Hudson-Odoi held talks with Ghana president Nana Akufo-Addo and FA president Kurt Okraku over a possible nationality switch.

Although, things were not concluded, reports suggest that Ghana FA will talk to him again about switching nationality to represent Ghana on international stage especially as the Black Stars are on the verge of playing in 2022 Fifa World Cup to be staged in Qatar later this year.

The Black Stars have been paired with Nigeria in the final round of 2022 World Cup qualifiers to be played in March and the winner after the two legs will automatically qualify to pick one of the five slots allocated to Africa.
