Breaking News: Chelsea sack beleaguered coach Graham Potter after series of poor results

The Blues have now parted ways with Potter few months after arriving in London

Chelsea have officially terminated the contract of Graham Potter, the club’s official website announced on Sunday evening.

Potter took over from Tomas Tuchel but he has failed to lead the club to its desired target especially in Premier League this season.

The Blues surprisingly sunk to a new low on Saturday as the side dropped into the bottom half of the Premier League table with a 2-0 defeat to Aston Villa.

Former Arsenal boss Unai Emery oversaw the victory for the away side at Stamford Bridge as Ollie Watkins pounced on a defensive error from the Blues.

John McGinn then doubled the lead with a long-range effort as the home crowd were left bemoaning missed chances and backline mistakes.

The result only added extra pressure to manager Graham Potter, who would’ve been forgiven for thinking his side had turned a corner after registering three wins on the bounce across all competitions last month.

The club then announced Potter’s sack on Sunday evening and former Bayern Munich coach Julian Nagelsmann is expected to fill the void in the coming days.

“Chelsea would like to thank Graham for all his efforts and contribution and wish him well for the future,” a club statement announced.

Ghanaian politician “Wontumi” Boasiako submits bid to buy Chelsea FC

The Ghanaian businessman cum politician is ready to takeover the Blues after Roman Abramovich declared his readiness to sell the club

Ghanaian politician, Bernard Antwi Boasiako, has officially submitted a bid to but my club Chelsea FC after Roman Abramovich put it on sale a couple of days ago.

Boasiako believes he can change the face of English football with the money made from small scale mining in Africa.

Roman Abramovich will ask two things from those who eventually purchase Chelsea Football Club from him.According to Sky Sports, the Russian wants to ensure he sells the Blues to someone, or a group, that will continue his investment in the current Chelsea squad, as well as the development of Stamford Bridge, or indeed building a new stadium.

Abramovich confirmed last week in a statement that he would be selling Chelsea after owning the club for almost two decades, with the “best interest” of the west Londoners the main reason behind his decision. The Russian businessman is looking for £3billion for the sale to be completed, with several interested parties already making contact with him.

Abramovich, before selling, though, apparently wants reassurance that his philosophy in terms of investing heavily into the squad and the redevelopment of the stadium, will be continued.

On the pitch, meanwhile, Chelsea recorded a comfortable victory against Burnley at the weekend and manager Thomas Tuchel praised his team for managing to block out what is going on behind the scenes at the club.

Tuchel said this on Saturday: “It is possible [to block out what is happening] because we do it. We had a brilliant match at Wembley [against Liverpool]. Even to make things harder a disappointing result at the end.

Roman Abramovich puts Chelsea up FOR SALE; a lot of investors show interest

The Blues owner has opted to sell the club following the ongoing feud between Russia and Ukraine

Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich has confirmed that he is ready to sell the club after concerns over his relationship with Russia president Vladimir Putin.

“I would like to address the speculation in media over the past few days in relation to my ownership of Chelsea FC. As I have stated before, I have always taken decisions with the Club’s best interest at heart. In the current situation, I have therefore taken the decision to sell the Club, as I believe this is in the best interest of the Club, the fans, the employees, as well as the Club’s sponsors and partners,” a Chelsea statement read.

“The sale of the Club will not be fast-tracked but will follow due process. I will not be asking for any loans to be repaid. This has never been about business nor money for me, but about pure passion for the game and Club.

XMoreover, I have instructed my team to set up a charitable foundation where all net proceeds from the sale will be donated. The foundation will be for the benefit of all victims of the war in Ukraine. This includes providing critical funds towards the urgent and immediate needs of victims, as well as supporting the long-term work of recovery.

Please know that this has been an incredibly difficult decision to make, and it pains me to part with the Club in this manner. However, I do believe this is in the best interest of the Club.

“I hope that I will be able to visit Stamford Bridge one last time to say goodbye to all of you in person. It has been a privilege of a lifetime to be part of Chelsea FC and I am proud of all our joint achievements. Chelsea Football Club and its supporters will always be in my heart.

Thank you,

Roman,” the statement added.
