Kenichi confirms Aduana striker Sasraku’s suspension

The Fire Club’s coach has cleared the air on why the striker was not part of the squad that played against Vita Club on Wednesday

Aduana Stars coach Kenichi Yatsuhashi has confirmed the suspension of striker Derrick Sasraku following acts of indiscipline during training session.

Prior to the Fire Club’s game against AS Vita Club in the Caf Confederation Cup on Wednesday, reports suggested that the Japanese coach had expelled the striker from camp following a training ground bust-up with assistant coach Tandoh.

It was earlier reported that Sasraku, who had a fight with teammate Elvis Opoku four months ago, had threatened to descend on the assistant coach following a brief altercation.

Although, the club’s communication director Evans Oppong initially denied the incident, Kenichi believes his decision to suspend the striker was the best option.
“On Derrick Sasraku’s issue, I have suspended him and that decision is for a reason,” Kenichi told Kumasi-based Silver FM.

“I think there’s nothing more that I can say about him for now. As a coach, I think there’s no certain rules I have set for players in any team that I have managed but I just provide an example for being a disciplined and hard working coach,” he added.

According to Goal ‘s sources, Sasraku is likely to be slapped with an indefinite ban and will forfeit at least three months salary.

Udinese agree four-year deal with Nicholas Opoku

The Black Stars defender is on the verge of joining the Little Zebras in Serie A

Udinese have agreed to bring Ghana and Club Africain defender Nicholas Opoku to Dacia Arena this summer, Goal understands.

The Little Zebras are expected to pay close to £1.5 million to acquire the former Berekum Chelsea star, following a verbal agreement for a four-year deal.

The 20-year-old was close to joining FC Basel in January but Club Africain pulled out of the talks after the Swiss side proposed to pay the agreed price in installments.

“It’s almost a done deal for Nicholas Opoku to join Udinese. The official announcement may be done in the coming days after both parties agreed the terms involved,” a source close to player told Goal .

“The deal with Basel which fell through at the eleventh hour in January almost affected him but he has a strong character.

“I believe this opportunity will make him happy and expose him to bigger opportunities in the future since he is a top talent with lots of prospects,” the source added.

Opoku boasts of two international appearances with Ghana after making his bow against United States in 2017 in an international friendly when he replaced Rashid Sumaila.

Aston Villa coach Bruce hints at Albert Adomah’s exit

The Claret & Blue Army’s boss says the club will likely lose some top players ahead of the new campaign

Aston Villa coach Steve Bruce has admitted that the club is likely to lose Ghana midfielder Albert Adomah and other stars ahead of next season.

The Claret & Blue Army are reportedly in need of £40-45million before they can meet Uefa’s Financial Fair Play regulations, leading to concerns over the future of 30-year-old Adomah, who has been linked to Newcastle United.

“I’ve accepted it and committed myself to the cause, and I think it’s better to be open and honest with the supporters and say how it is,” Bruce told Sky Sports News.

“We don’t want to lose Grealish, Adomah, Kodjia and Chester, but the inevitability is that we might have to, so let’s get ready for it.

“We have to keep the club up and running and keep it in line with Financial Fair Play. We might have to take decisions which aren’t going to be easy. We will have to generate some money and inevitably that’s going to be through player sales,” he said.

“And it’s going to be people who I don’t want to sell. Jack is the obvious one that clubs are going to look at. You don’t want to lose him but the inevitable thing is, we have to.

“People will know we’ve got financial problems and they’ll sit and wait until deadline day possibly. I hope that doesn’t happen but we’ve got to wait for it.

“It’s pretty brutal stuff out there. There’s nobody going to feel sorry for Aston Villa because financially we’ve got ourselves into a bit of a pickle. We’re having a tough time at the moment but we’ve got to try and steer our way through it and ride the storm,” he added.

Although, Adomah Villa couldn’t qualify to the Premier League after losing the playoffs to Fulham, Adomah ended as the topscorer last season after scoring 14 goals in 32 appearances.

He was also voted as the club’s Players’ player of the Year.

Aduana Stars sack head coach Yussif Abubakar

The Ghana Premier League champions have terminated the contract of their coach after only one-and-half-a-year in charge

Aduana Stars have announced the termination of contract with their head coach Yussif Abubakar, AshesGyamera can confirm.

The former Techiman City and Heart of Lions boss joined Aduana on November 7, 2016 to replace Cioaba Aristica following the latter’s decision to quit the club to sign for Tanzanian giants Azam FC.

Abubakar guided Aduana to clinch the league trophy last season as well as reaching the group stage of the ongoing Caf Confederation Cup.

The news comes as a surprise to many people since Aduana have only seven days to prepare before they play Congolese giants Vita Club in Group A fixture of Caf Confederation Cup at the Nana Agyemang Badu Park in Dormaa Ahenkro.

However, according to AshesGyamera‘s sources, the former coach breached a lot of the club’s code of ethics despite several warnings. He is also reported ot have picked fights with some of the club’s top hierarchy due to disagreements on issues.

Assistant coach W.O Tandoh will be in charge of the club in the interim until a substantive coach is appointed.

And according to our sources, former Hearts of Oak and Inter Allies coach Kenichi Yatsuhashi is in advanced talks with the club to become the new boss.

Aduana sit bottom of the Group A log with only a point after two games, three points behind leaders Vita Club.

 

Official: Ronaldo released by Real Madrid to join Juventus

The five-time Balon d’Or winner is heading to Turin ahead of the new season after nine years in Spain

Champions League winners Real Madrid have finally announced that Cristiano Ronaldo will leave the club in favour of continuing his career with Serie A side Juventus.

Ronaldo, who was reported to be unhappy with Madrid following the club’s decision not to improve his earnings, will sign a four-year deal with Juventus worth €30 million every season.

This is amount is seven million more than what he was taken while with Madrid.

The Liga said in an official statement:

“Real Madrid CF communicates that, in response to the will and request expressed by the player Cristiano Ronaldo, he has agreed to transfer to Juventus FC.”

Ronaldo arrived in Spain from Manchester United in a deal worth €96 million which was the then world record and helped the club to win two La Liga and two Copa del Rey titles, as well as four Uefa Champions League trophies.

The Portuguese superstar who led his country to the round of 16 at the 2018 World Cup holding in Russia, boasts of five Balon d’Or accolades and stands a realistic chance of making it six in 2018.

It’s very certain that Ronaldo will will wear his favourite number 7 jersey at Juventus.

Aduana captain Akuoko eyes Vita Club’s scalp to make it out of Caf CC Group A

The Fire Club’s captain says they have what it takes to make it out of the group stage despite a slow start in the competition

Aduana Stars captain Emmanuel Akuoko has set sights on spurring the club to the quarterfinals of the Caf Confederation Cup.

The Ghanaian champions are without a win after two games and languish at the bottom of Group A ahead of their home game against Vita Club next week at Nana Agyemang Badu Park in Dormaa Ahenkro.

However, Akuoko believes they have the potential to revive their campaign, amid an ongoing suspension of Ghana Premier League which has kept the team inactive since June.

“We are aware that our game against Vita Club will be difficult because we’ve been inactive due to the suspension of the league as a result of the investigations by Anas Aremeyaw Anas,” he told Goal .

“We had three league outstanding matches which we were supposed to play in June and that would’ve helped in improving our match fitness but we have a good squad and will not let the indefinite suspension of the matches affect us in anyway,” he said.

“Vita Club are one of the powerhouses in African football but we’ll not allow them to pick a draw or win against us. I’m very optimistic that we’ll defeat them next week and keep our aims alive.

“Aduana is last on the log but a win against Vita Club will push us to third position with four points. After this game, we will do our best in the last three fixtures to make it out of the group and at least reach the quarterfinals,” he added.

Goal understands that Ghanaian authorities have promised to support Aduana financially after the club’s representatives met with the liaison officers appointed by Fifa on Monday

Icardi welcomes Kwadwo Asamoah to Inter Milan

Inter Milan captain Mauro Icardi has welcomed Ghana midfielder Kwadwo Asamoah and other new arrivals to the club as they embark on pre-season for the new campaign.

Asamoah, 28, joined Inter from Serie A champions Juventus in a three-year deal, with Radja Nainggolan, Stefan De Vrij, Lautaro Martinez and Matteo Politano among the new signings.

“After six weeks, we were missing the daily routine of training a bit. We all want to start the new season and play in the Champions League which had been our objective,” Icardi told Inter TV .

“It will be a training camp that’s different from the rest. We’ll prepare well for the Champions League, Serie A and develop chemistry with our new teammates including Kwadwo Asamoah and the rest.

“I welcome the new players again, like I did before on the phone when they signed and they have to understand what Inter is like as a family. We met happily for the first training session and want to continue in the best way possible.”

Asamoah spent six seasons with Juventus, winning a total of 13 titles including six Serie A trophies.

Pregnant woman and child die at Suntreso Hospital because of ¢500

A 30 year old pregnant woman lost her life, including her unborn baby at the Suntreso Government Hospital in Kumasi on Wednesday, July 4, 2018, when she was refused a medical attention during labour, an incident the family has accused the hospital authorities of negligence of duty.

Angela Afriyie Agyemang, died in the theatre after the nurses at the maternity ward had put her on hold to attend to other cases the nurses considered “critical”, after all the conditions and preparation for the Cesarean Section had been met by her husband, including a fee of ¢500 to the doctor.

The husband of the deceased, Pastor Solomon Lamo Latiff, of the House of Faith Ministry in Kumasi narrating the sad incident to Captain Koda, the host of Otec FM’s morning show ‘Nyansapo’ on Monday, July 9, 2018, said he brought her wife to the hospital on Tuesday, July 3, 2018 when she in labour but she couldn’t deliver on the same day.

“My wife, whose delivery time had elapsed for seven days, couldn’t deliver on Tuesday so on Wednesday, the medical doctor in charge, only known as Dr. Sarpong said Cesarean Section (CS) had to be performed to save the mother and the unborn baby, and an agreed fee of GHC 500 was to be paid to Dr. Sarpong, as a ‘motivation fee’ after the surgery but Dr. Sarpong allowed other woman to the theatre before my wife while I was organizing myself to pay for the money but my wife passed on in the process,” he recounted.

“After the agreement, I procured all the necessary medication for the surgery and when my wife who has been sitting in a wheel chair for more than three hours, having difficulties in breathing, was told to hold on, as more critical cases had to be attended to, when she was about to be taken to the theatre,” he sorrowfully said.

He continued that when his wife situation worsened, he called on the attention of the nurses and she was rushed to the theatre for the CS.

“After ten minutes, I was called into the theatre to be told that she and the baby couldn’t survive. All that I saw was the lifeless body of my pregnant wife on the theatre bed, I was speechless and tears started flowing,” Pastor Lamo cried.

Meanwhile, the family of the deceased has threatened to take legal action against the Suntreso Government Hospital for negligence of duty that led to her death.

The Spokesperson for the family, Mr. Osei Afriyie, in an interview with Otec News’ Isaac Nsiah Foster, said “we will do everything possible to seek redress at the law court for the death of my niece. The hospital must be brought to book to prevent such deaths in the future, because if they had given her the much needed attention, the mother and baby could have survived.”

Ghana’s U-20 female national team secured a 3-0 victory in a friendly game against Kumasi select side on Sunday (July 8, 2018) at the Kumasi Girls’ Senior High School.

After a pulsating opening twenty minutes, Sandra Owusu Ansah broke the deadlock for the national team by the 24th minute with a well-taking strike, before she made it 2-0 three minutes later from the spot after a teammate was brought down in the box.

Ruth Animah who had been very impressive throughout the first-half added another goal two minutes later against the run of play, after the opponents’ effort on goal was thwarted by goalkeeper McCarthy Perry.

Ghana who are making their fifth appearances at the tournament following the 3-1 aggregate win over Cameroon during the qualifiers, have been pitted in Group A of the World Cup with host nation France, Netherlands and New Zealand will face the hosts in the opening game on August 5 at the Stade de la Rabine, Vannes.

Nigeria, who are Africa’s other representatives at the tournament, will play Germany, Korea DPR and Haiti in Group D.

Asamoah Gyan picks Belgium as most impressive team at the World Cup

The Black Stars captain believes the Red Devils have been splendid so far in the tournament after making it to the semi-finals on Friday

Ghana captain Asamoah Gyan has picked Belgium as his most impressive team at the ongoing Fifa World Cup in Russia.
The Red Devils stunned tournament top favourites Brazil 2-1 in the quarterfinals at the Kazan Arena on Friday.

“Belgium is the country that has impressed me most so far at the World Cup,” Gyan told Hot FM.

“After them comes Croatia, although they struggled to meet the expectations of many in their last game against Denmark since they struggled to qualify,” he added.

Gyan, however, declined to predict the ultimate winner of the tournament, with Belgium one game away from the final.
“To be honest, I can’t predict who will win the tournament because it’s too tricky. There have been several shocks and it will continue until the tournament is over.

“It’s too tricky to predict so I will only say that the best and well composed country will win at the end of the tournament. Belgium have a good team and teamwork but it’s still too difficult for me to say that they will be the eventual winners,” he added.

Belgium, who eliminated Japan in the round of 16, will face France in the semi-finals on Tuesday July 10.
