The young teacher who has been advocating for the welfare of his colleague teachers and pupils has been shown the exit few days to Christmas

Energetic teacher and social media activist Michael Owusu Afriyie popularly known as Teacher Kwadwo has confirmed that he has been sacked by Ghana Education Service just a day after guiding his pupils to write the National Assessment Examination.

The former Akrokerri College of Education student, who doubles as a comedian and appears on UTV’s United Showbiz every Saturday, has taken upon himself to speak about against ill treatments teachers across the country go through while executing their works.

Although, he has been applauded by a lot of teachers who believe he is fighting a good course, his recent episodes of unveiling what he terms as the rot in Ghana Education Service, have irked his employers.

As a result, his contract has been terminated with the immediate effect and has been directed to handover every material or property of Ghana Education Service in his possession.

“Okay, so for some “PROFESSIONAL” reasons, I can’t post the content of the letter here but all that is in the letter is that my District Education Office through Ghana Education Service says they have sacked me,” Teacher Kwadwo posted on Facebook.

“Their reasons are very funny. This is going to be the first ever TEACHER vs GES fight in the history of Ghana Education. Y’all relax because it will be all over the news soon and y’all will know the head and tail of it.
Ɛbɛyɛ butubutu,” he added.

According to Teacher Kwadwo, the top hierarchy of Ghana Education Service had been waiting for a better timing to sack him from the profession since the letter which confirmed his sacking was dated in October – three months ago.

“The SACKING letter that was given to me yesterday is dated “27th october 2021”. Abeg what was yesterday’s date?

“Meaning they have typed the letter looooong time and was looking for an opportunity but since they don’t get it,they have given it to me like that.
Wɔn atetɛ me akyɛ,” he concluded.

Teacher Kwadwo is well known for providing school uniforms and other learning materials to his pupils and several schools. He recently renovated Akrofrom D/A Primary School through the help of some well-meaning Ghanaians after a video he posted on social media.
