Ghana midfielder Kevin-Prince Boateng has rejoined German Bundesliga side Hertha Berlin until the end of 2021/22 season as a free agent following the expiration of his contract with Serie B club AC Monza, the two clubs have confirmed.

Boateng, 34, is hoping to end his career with Berlin and was unveiled on Wednesday after leaving the club more than a decade ago.

After having stints with Barcelona, AC Milan, Tottenham and Portsmouth, Boateng is expected to help the young lads at Berlin with his enormous experience during his short stay.

“Kevin-Prince Boateng is returning to Berlin, back to his hometown and back to the club for whom he made his Bundesliga debut in 2006. The attacking midfielder joins from Serie B club AC Monza and has signed a contract running until 2022,” a club statement read.

Boateng posted on Twitter: “I’m back.”

He is still available and could be called by Ghana coach C.K Akonnor ahead of the 2020 Africa Cup of Nations holding in Cameroon as the Black Stars hope to win their first major trophy since 1982.
