The Porcupine Warriors poster boy could be heading to South Africa next season after the Buccaneers tabled an official offer on Monday
South African giants Orlando Pirates have reportedly made an official move for Asante Kotoko midfielder Hubert Gyau, GhanaSportsCentral.com can reveal.
The 20-year-old has been one of the brightest spots for Kotoko this season amid their uninspiring performances which have led to the departure of two of their coaches.
Pirates are searching for reinforcements in the heart of the engine room ahead of next season and they believe Gyau remains a key figure in their long term project, taking into account his growth, age and international exposure.
Gyau has netted four goals in Ghana Premier League this season and has three years left on his contract with Kotoko after joining them in a four-year deal from Berekum Chelsea in June, 2025.
However, GhanaSportsCentral understands that Kotoko are willing to sell Gyau after receiving the official email from Pirates quoting $250,000 on Monday. However, they are still negotiating an increased fee and onwards transfer percentage should the player lands a lucrative deal in future.
