Ghana made a huge statement as the defeated Madagascar 3-0 in Morocco in the ongoing 2026 Fifa World Cup qualifiers on Monday evening.

After failing to win a single game and missing out of the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations, the Black Stars needed a win to make a statement and prove to many doubters that they still have what it takes to represent the continent on international stage.

Ghana broke the deadlock against Madagascar through Arsenal star midfielder Thomas Teye Partey. The box-to-box midfielder out jumped his marker and headed in a well-tailored cross from Jordan Ayew in the first half.Ayew once again set up M Mohammed Kudus to make it 2-0 before Partey completed the victory with the help of another assist from Ayew.

Ghana now lead group I with 15 points, five points above Madagascar who are in second place.
