The Black Stars boss believes his charges failed to utilize glaring opportunities that is why they ended up losing
Ghana Chris Hughton was adamant to claims that he failed to impress with his tactics following the 1-0 defeat Comoros in 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers in Moroni on Tuesday.
A goal in the first half by Comoros meant that the Black Stars are now sitting fourth on the Group I log with three points, as Comoros got top with six.
“Congratulations to Comoros for the victory. In my opinion, over the 90 minutes, we were the better team,” Hughton said after the game.
“I think Ghana were the better team. We conceded what we regard as a poor goal and we were not able to capitalise on the chances that we had.
“So this was not a game where Comoros won comfortably. Over the 90 minutes, we were the better team but unfortunately, we were not able to put away the chances that we created,” he added.
Ghana will now switch their attention to the upcoming 2023 Africa Cup of Nations to be staged in Cote d’Ivoire next year January.
