There were avalanche of goals on matchday four with the defending champions picking as many as six while a lone goal from Jordan Opoku brought the Porcupine Warriors back to winning ways

The Ghana Premier League matchday four took place over the weekend with two games taking place on Saturday at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium.

In the first game of the day, Bechem United shared the spoils 1-1 with Ashanti Gold. Emmanuel Owusu Boakye slotted in the opener for Bechem but Amos Addai combined with a teammate and slotted in the equaliser for the Miners to preserve their unbeaten record and remain at the summit of the log.

Later in the day, Elmina Sharks recovered from their defeat in the mid-week to post a 2-0 defeat to Wafa thanks to goals from Benjamin Arthur, but it was on Sunday that the heavens opened for the rains to flow.

In Dormaa Ahenkro, Aduana Stars recovered from their painful defeat to Wafa on Wednesday to hammer a 10-man Inter Allies 6-0. After goalkeeper Kwame Baah saw red card, Yahaya Mohammed scored three times before Bright Adjei, Nathaniel Asamoah and Emmanuel Akuoku added a goal each to complete the annihilation.

Yahaya has become the first player this season to score a hat-trick and succeeds Hans Kwofie who scored the first hat-trick last season against Great Olympics and continued to win the goal king.

Asante Kotoko struggled to pip Eleven Wonders 1-0 through Jordan Opoku’s latest goal while Hearts of Oak made it two wins in a row with Patrick Razak fetching the all-important goal.

However, at the Carl Reindolf Park in Dansoman, Liberty Professionals failed to win their first game of the season after sharing the spoils 1-1 with Medeama while Wa All Stars finally won a game this season at home against Berekum Chelsea.
