The Sogakope-based club failed to pick a win in five games which had Rasmussen in charge but surprisingly, they have recovered from their early slumber and gone on to achieve some incredible features under the stewardship of caretaker manager Moro Ibrahim including the 5-0 drubbing of Dreams FC at home and the 3-2 away win over Ebusua Dwarfs in Cape Coast.
From lying in the relegation zone, they have impressively moved several places up to fourth position and boast of 18 points, just three points behind leaders Ashanti Gold.
Liewig, who has previously worked with Club Africain, Stade Tunisian, MC Alger, EGS Gasfa and Tanzanian giants SC Simba will have his first assignment in Ghana when Wafa play giants Hearts of Oak in Cape Coast on May 23 in the top-flight.
