Fatawu Issahaku provides assist on Premier League debut against Tottenham

The youngster lived up to the expectations as he created the Foxes’ equaliser against Tottenham on Monday night

It was a dream come true as Ghana international Abdul Fatawu Issahaku made his Premier League debut for Leicester City in their 1-1 stalemate against Tottenham Hotspurs on Monday night.

The 20-year-old played the entire duration of the game and capped his historic night with an assist which was scored by veteran striker Jamie Vardy.

Fatawu had 54 touches of the ball and made two key passes as well as four crosses with two being successful.

Also, the former Ghana Premier League star made six dribbling attempts and succeeded on three occasions. He was fouled three times and committed two fouls, as well as made 21 ground duels and won 12.

In total, Fatawu had 14 accurate passes out of 19 and was rated 7.8 which was the highest rating in the Leicester squad.

Leicester will travel to Craven Cottage next weekend to lock horns with Fulham who suffered a slim defeat to Manchester United on opening day and Fatawu will be expected to repeat a similar performance in a game this would be his first-ever away match in the Premier League.

He became the fourth Ghanaian player to feature for his club on first week of the Premier League after Arsenal’s Thomas Partey, Antoine Semenyo of Bournemouth fame and Jordan Ayew who was a second half substitute when Crystal Palace lost 2-1 away to Brentford.

In other related news, Crystal Palace striker Jordan Ayew is still heavily linked with a move to Leicester as coach Steve Cooper wants to reunite with his former player before the transfer window closes.

Betting Odds for Sunday games across Europe; simple way of making money

With the last round of matches to be played today before the various leagues go on halt for international break, AshesGyamera.com predicts the outcome of games to be played on Sunday.

In the Premier League, Liverpool will welcome champions Manchester City to Anfield in a make or break encounter. A win is imminent for both sides but Liverpool may pull a surprise against the run of play.

There are at least two goals expected to rain this afternoon when West Ham host Brentford who held Liverpool to a 3-3 stalemate last weekend, while Tottenham Hotspur will hope to recover from their slumber.

After winning their opening three games, Tottenham have surprisingly fallen short of what everyone expected of them. They are winless in their last three games and today provides a better opportunity for them to show reactions.

Meanwhile, Real Madrid after their shocking defeat to minnows Sheriff Tiraspol in the UEFA Champions League will be hoping to make a statement that they still have their mojo when they face Espanyol away.

Elsewhere in France, Messi, Kaylian Mbappe and Neymar Jr are expected to come to the party when PSG face Stade Rennes in Ligue 1 biggest game of the weekend. Ghanaian midfielder Kamaldeen Sulemana has also promised to punish PSG despite their star-studded squad.

Jose Mourinho inspires Tottenham to top of Premier League

LONDON, Nov 21 (Reuters) – Tottenham Hotspur moved top of the Premier League after a classic Jose Mourinho inspired performance delivered a 2-0 victory over Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City on Saturday.

Goals in each half from Son Heung-min and substitute Giovani lo Celso, secured the three points and a fourth straight league win for Spurs, who are two points ahead of second-placed Chelsea.Mourinho’s men grabbed the lead in the fifth minute when Son got round the back of City’s defence to latch on to a perfect, lofted pass over the top from Tanguy Ndombele and slip the ball through the legs of the advancing Ederson for the South Korean’s ninth league goal of the season.

Harry Kane had the ball in the net in the 13th minute, slotting home from Son at the end of a sweeping move but the effort was disallowed for offside.City were frustrated when Aymeric Laporte drove home after being set up by Gabriel Jesus but referee Mike Dean, after reviewing the pitch-side monitor, ruled the Brazilian had handled.

The visitors enjoyed the bulk of possession without threatening the goal too often while a well-organised Spurs kept compact and looked to strike on the break. That proved to be a wise tactic when Lo Celso, just 35 seconds after being introduced from the bench, was found by Kane and kept his cool to slip past Ederson, who again had rushed out of his goal.

Spurs keeper Hugo Lloris did well in the final minute to keep out a header from Ruben Dias as City were left to reflect n a result that left them adrift in 10th place, eight points behind Tottenham.

The victory was the first time Mourinho has enjoyed back-to-back wins over his old rival Guardiola.
