Prosper Narteh visits long-time friend in Berekum who was involved in fatal accident ahead of Chelsea game

The Porcupine Warriors boss made time off his busy schedules to visit a long time friend in Berekum who was involved in an accident ahead of their game on Saturday

Asante Kotoko coach Prosper Ogum Narteh paid a visit to his long time friend Kofi Asomah in Berekum on Friday ahead of the Porcupine Warriors game against Berekum Chelsea at the Golden City Park on Saturday.

With Kotoko camping in Sunyani ahead of the game, Ogum made a short trip to Berekum with his personal assistant Asante Forkuo and returned in the evening.

Asomah, also known in the media circles as Qophi, works with Sunyani-based Suncity Radio as the head of sports.

He was involved in fatal accident a couple of days ago off the Dormaa Ahenkro-Berekum road as he was returning from a visit to Dormaa.

The car Qophi was in got burnt upon a head-on collision and although, he survived, he lost several personal belongings including mobile phones, money and other things.

“A Ford Transit was turning to his junction with a car in front of him, without looking forward to see if another car is coming or not, the driver just turned to collide with our taxi head on at a very close range,” Qophi told AshesGyamera.com

Prosper Ogum, who played Berekum Arsenal after his stints with Aduana Stars, has been a close friend of Qophi despite leaving Brong Ahafo region to continue with his education and career.

Qophi was full of praise after the visit and wished Ogum well as he leads Kotoko.

“I was surprised with the visit. He has been a friend since our early days but for him to drive to come and see me upon hearing my unfortunate incident gladding my heart,” Qophi said to AshesGyamera.com.

“We were close while he was playing for Berekum Arsenal but you know in this life, each has his or her own ambitions so we headed different directions at a point. I’m happy out paths have crossed once again.

“I wish him well as he is now leading one of the biggest clubs in the country and the continent at large. I pray that he will succeed so that Kotoko fans wi remember his name one day,” he added.

Kotoko top Ghana Premier League log with 26 points and are hoping to win their third game in a row after already dispatching Aduana Stars and Ashanti Gold.
