Hearts of Oak have hosted Algerian side JS Souara in the play off in the Caf Confederation Cup at the Accra Sports Stadium.
Ibrahim Salifu’s first half header has sent the Phobians ahead of the game and they will be on the look out for more goals after the break.
The winner after the two games will qualify to play in the group stage of the competition.
The midfielder shot the Phobians ahead against the Algerians in the first leg of the Caf Confederation playoffs at the Accra Sports Stadium on Sunday.

Asante Kotoko defender Christopher Nettey has been dropped from the matchday squad that travelled from Kumasi to Ainyinase ahead of the Ghana Premier League matchday five fixture against Karela United at the Crosby Awuah Memorial Park on Sunday.
The defender, who has been ever present in Kotoko’s games so far this season, could not pass late fitness test after picking an injury and was left behind in Kumasi. His place will likely be taken by youngster Samuel Appiah.
Nettey was spotted at Paa Joe Park in Kumasi on Saturday afternoon with former Asante Kotoko chief executive officer Herbert Mensah when Ghana’s Rugby Team played in the West Africa Rugby Tournament.
Also, midfielder Richmond Lamptey will play no part of the game due to a hamstring injury he picked up against Eleven Wonders last weekend.
However, deputy captain Mudasiru Salifu has been cleared by Ghana Football Association to play against Karela since he has only picked up two yellow cards. Initial communique from the football association suggested that Mudasiru was suspended due to accumulated cards but further checks proved that there was a mistake.

The World’s football governing body has thrown out the protest filed against Ghana by South Africa, according to reports in the local media
Fifa have rejected South Africa’s protest against Ghana and Senegalese referee Maguitta Ndiaye following the 1-0 defeat a fortnight ago in the 2022 Fifa World Cup qualifiers, AshesGyamera.com understand.
The Black Stars were in a dire need of three points to top Group G and book their place in the playoffs while South Africa needed just a point, however, it was Ghana that had the last laugh.
Andre Ayew scored the only goal after referee Ndiaye awarded Ghana a penalty after Leicester City defender Daniel Amartey was heckled down in the penalty box but officials from South Africa believed that the referee was manipulated prompting a complaint to Fifa.
They further alleged that a Ghanaian official travelled to Senegal to meet referee Ndiaye before the game and manipulated the referees even before kick off.
Although, Ghana responded to the allegations on November 20, the official ruling has since not been released.
However, reports in the local media indicate that Fifa has rejected all the allegations leveled against Ghana and the referee and therefore, there will not be any replay as earlier anticipated.
Despite no evidence of match manipulation and fixing found, Senegalese referee Ndiaye Maguitta, however, will likely be punished with some games ban since his general performance was below average, according to the match review panel.
Ghana will progress to the next stage of the competition and face either Senegal who are currently the best ranked county on the continent or Morocco.
There is also a possibility of the Black Stars facing Nigeria, Tunisia or Mali since these countries complete the top five ranked countries left in the qualifiers.
The official draw for the playoffs has been moved from December to January, 2022 and the games have been scheduled for March 2022 after the Africa Cup of Nations.
Ghana qualified to their maiden participation at the World Cup in 2006 and were also present in 2010 and 2014 editions held in South Africa and Brazil respectively.
However, they missed the 2018 edition by a whisker after South African referee Daniel Bennett robbed them of a late goal against Uganda. Although, they protested, Fifa only banned the referee and stood by the scoreline which aided Egypt to qualify in the end.

Ghana’s Grammy Award nominee Rocky Dawuni has shed light on why comments that Reggae Dancehall artist Stonebwoy has gained a Grammy nomination is not accurate.
Dawuni, whose album has been nominated for the 64th edition of the awards explained that any artist who gets featured on an album nominated in the Grammy’s does not make him a nominee.
He further stressed that it feels good to be part of a project which has been globally recognized but that doesn’t mean you have a nomination for yourself or you have won an award should the work finally wins the category it was nominated for in the process.
“There is a lot of confusion, as you would understand, Grammy nomination is for a body of work, so there is a difference between a nominee for a Grammy and also featuring to be part of a song of a Grammy-nominated album,” Dawuni told Citi TV.
“You have contributed to the song, but you are not a nominee. The thing is, I am not the one saying it. You should go to the Academy website and see who the nominees are,” he added.
He added: “I think that sometimes…been featured on a record is a great achievement. It’s really great, but we have to also recognize what is… we can’t create our own rules here and be using those rules.”

Hearts, unlike Souara, began this season in Caf Champions League and eliminated Guinean side CI Kamsar in the preliminary round. However, they were booted out by Moroccan giants Wydad Athletic Club and had to drop to the Confederation Cup.
Souara currently sit ninth on the Algerian Ligue 1 log with seven points but they have one outstanding game at hand.
The Academy Boys left it late to stun Great Olympics on Saturday when the visitors thought they had picked up a point
WAFA defeated Great Olympics 1-0 in Ghana Premier League matchday five fixture at the Red Bull Arena in Sogakope on Saturday.
Prior to the game, WAFA were without a win after four games as they shared the spoils 2-2 in their last game while Olympics had gone the season without a defeat and were hoping to continue their good run.
Both sides failed to make use of the few half chances that fell to them with Derrick Mensah Antwi the most culprit.
On 29th minute, Sampson Agyapong saw his free-kick cleared after it initially appeared to be going in.
After the break, Olympics grew into the game and caused a lot of troubles to the WAFA defence. However, that could not translate into goals.
Late in additional time, WAFA were handed a penalty after Marvin Owusu was fouled in the box. The referee didn’t hesitate to point to the spot for a penalty and striker Justus Torsutsey calmly slotted in the resulting kick.

Asante Kotoko coach Dr. Prosper Ogum Narteh has announced a 20-man squad that he will be using to face Karela United in matchday five of Ghana Premier League at Crosby Awuah Memorial Park in Ainyinase on Sunday.
Interestingly, midfielder Richmond Lamptey who have been ever present since joining from Inter Allies, will miss this game. The nimble-footed player picked up an injury in the win over Techiman Eleven Wonders last weekend at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium and could not recover on time.
Also, winger Stephen Amankonah has been dropped despite scoring some goals at training ground as he is yet to convince the technical team on matchdays. Meanwhile, defender Yussif Mubarik once again misses the squad due to ill-health.
However, Ogum has been given a big relief following the availability of midfielder Mudasiru Salifu for the game.
