Rumours had linked the Porcupine Warriors with a move to Dormaa Ahenkro but the midfielder has denied any contact has been made

Asante Kotoko deputy captain Emmanuel Gyamfi has denied having any contact with Aduana Stars regarding a a possible transfer ahead of the 2021/22 Ghana Premier League season.

The 28-year-old extended his contract with Kotoko for just one year in June and reports suggested he could leave the club after five years in Kumasi to join the Dormaa Ahenkro-based club since he had met the club’s owner.

However, Gyamfi has categorically denied such reports and claims he is expecting to be part of Kotoko’s squad for the new season.

“I’m still Asante Kotoko player and I have a contract with the club which I respect it. Those rumour going rounds that I will leave the club aren’t true,” Gyamfi told Success FM.

“there’s nothing true about it and I’ve not met any one from Aduana Stars also regarding a possible move. I’m hoping to join my teammates for the pre-season and work hard to achieve our aims,” he added.

Gyamfi joined Kotoko from Wa All Stars, now Legon Cities as a free agent in 2016 and risen through the ranks to be named deputy captain behind goalkeeper Felix Annan.
