Ghana FA bans Kotoko’s Emmanuel Gyamfi for stamping Andy Akpe

The Fabulous deputy skipper will miss one of their last two games of the season as he serves his ban

Ghana Football Association’s disciplinary committee has found Asante Kotoko deputy captain Emmanuel Gyamfi guilty and has been banned him for a match.

Gyamfi has also been fined GH1000.00 and has three days to make payments to the association’s secretariat.

The former Wa All Stars winger was charged for a breach of Article 34(6)(d) of the GFA Premier League Regulations, 2019. However, Gyamfi has the liberty to appeal to the ruling if he disagrees.

Gyamfi was summoned at the DC after he was caught on tape during the match between Inter Allies FC and Asante Kotoko at the Theatre of Dreams stamping player number 45 of Inter Allies (Andy Okpe) in an off-ball situation around the 65th minute of the game.

It is an action which in the opinion on the
association is improper and likely to bring the game into disrepute.

FULL RULING BY GFA D/C:
Emmanuel Gyamfi is found guilty of the Charges. A fine of GHc1,000 is hereby imposed on Emmanuel Gyamfi in accordance with Article 6.1(c) of the GFA Disciplinary Code That Emmanuel Gyamfi is hereby handed a onematch ban in accordance with Article 12(b) of the GFA Disciplinary Code. Emmanuel Gyamfi is warned that any future misconduct shall receive a more severe punishment
