The versatile player arrives in South Africa on a deal that will take him through to 2025 with Babina Noko, three months after he left Asante Kotoko

Former Asante Kotoko defender Habib Mohammed has sealed a three-year deal with South African Premier Soccer League side Sekhukhune United from Dreams FC, AshesGyamera.com can exclusively reveal.

The 24-year-old joined Dreams in October last year after the expiration of his contract with Kotoko and has been very instrumental in the club’s fight for a top four finish this season.

Habib arrived in South Africa last week together with his agent Yussif Chibsah and finally put pen to paper after he passed Sekhukhune United’s medical check up.

He has become the fourth player to be signed by Sekhukhune United in the second half of the season after they unveiled former Orlando Pirates and Cape Town City striker Justin Shonga alongside Luckyboy Mokoena and former Supersport United striker Evans Rusike.

Habib, who was born and raised in Sunyani, began his career with lower-tier side Allah Koso FC before he moved to rivals Aston Villa FC and later joined a Division One League side Bofoakwa Tano.

In 2017, he was signed by Premier League giants Ashanti Gold in a two-year deal before he joined regional rivals Asante Kotoko where he impressed hugely and even gained a call up to the senior national team Black Stars against Sudan in the Afcon qualifiers in 2020.

As a strong Shatta Movement member, who adores Ghana’s dancehall king Shatta Wale so much, he is a fearless player and hard on opponents.
