The Porcupine Warriors continued their unbeaten run after picking up a priceless point at the Golden City Park when all odds seemed to be against them

Asante Kotoko shared the spoils goalless with Berekum on matchday thirteen of Ghana Premier League at the Golden City Park in Berekum on Saturday.

After defeating Aduana Stars and Ashanti Gold in their two previous league games, Kotoko were hoping to make it three wins in a row.

Prosper Ogum Narteh made a single change in his squad as midfielder Richmond Lamptey was included in the starting line up after missing the game against Ashanti Gold due to suspension while Maxwell Agyemang returned from injury and was named on the bench.

Meanwhile, Chelsea named an unchanged side as the coach maintained the players that played against Medeama last weekend.

The first half was full of tension and lack of chances but Paul Attah Agyei was given an opportunity by the 18th minute, however, he could not guide his effort on goal.

Mbella Frank Thierry and Georges Mfegue combined to create an opening in Chelsea’s defence by the 35th minute but the danger was cleared by Stephen Anokye Badu.

After the break, Kotoko began to improve in the final third but failed to make count all the half chances that came their way.

On the 80th minute, substitute Kofi Owusu was awarded a controversial penalty by referee Jones Akubiem after Owusu’s shot was adjudged to have hit the hand of Kotoko defender.

However, Stephen Anokye Badu’s kick from the resulting penalty was perfectly saved by goalkeeper Danlad Ibrahim.

Kotoko held on to pick one priceless point and have now amassed 27 points to still lead the log. They have one outstanding game against fierce rivals Hearts of Oak at the Accra Sports Stadium and it has been scheduled to take place on February 20.
