The Hunters hitman has admitted that he was surprised with the late call up to join Black Stars ahead of the Afcon qualifiers

Bechem United striker Prince Adu Kwabena has revealed that he was surprised when he was officially selected to join the Black Stars ahead of the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers against Sudan at the Cape Coast Sports Stadium on November 12.

The 17-year-old was handed a late call up after German-born of Ghanaian descent Jamie Leweling rejected the chance to play for Ghana.

“I am surprised with my debut call-up to the senior national team. I am really elated and ready to prove to the world that local players deserve a chance at Black Stars,” Adu Kwabena told Kumasi-based Light FM in an interview.

“Luis Suarez is my role model in football. I’ve copied most of his ideas and playing style in my play. My aspiration is to play in one of the European leagues in future,” he added.

Ghana will travel to Khartoum on November 15 for the return fixture against Sudan.
