The midfielder was on target as the Qatari side won in an eight-goal thriller as part of their pre-season in Spain

Ghana captain John Andre Ayew was on target when Al Sadd SC defeated Spanish side Figueres 5-3 in a pre-season game on Wednesday in Spain.

It was the Spanish side that took the lead very early in the game and even added another before the end of the first half. 

However, Ayew, who started the game pulled one back just five minutes inside the second half.

 
Algerian striker Baghdad Bounedjah out muscled his marker ten minutes later to pull Al Sadd even with a fine finish.

Al Sadd finally went ahead for the first time in the game following Santi Cazorla from a penalty kick in the 71st minute.

Baghdad Bounedjah added another goal for Al Sadd by the 75th minute by 75th minute ti send them 4-2 up.

Mohammad Al-Manai rose from the bench to add another goal three minutes later with a simple finish after connecting a pass from his teammate.

Figueres pulled a goal back to make it 5-3 as they attempted a comback but it was too little too late.

Ayew, who has 93 caps for Ghana joined Al Sadd from Swansea City as a free transfer following the expiration of his contract.
