The Botwekumba are likely to see their opening day game against Mysterious Dwarfs called off after several first team members have been tested positive of COVID-19

Ghana Premier League game between Ebusua Dwarfs and Elmina Sharks scheduled for Sunday at the Cape Coast Sports Stadium is likely to be called, AshesGyamera.com understands.

This is as a results of Coronavirus disease cases recorded in the camp of Sharks on Saturday morning. The incident has brought uneasiness within the ranks and file of the club as series of different tests are to be done later on Saturday to ascertain the exact number of players affected.

It will recalled that Hearts of Oak played a pre-season friendly with Sharks few weeks ago and it was confirmed on Friday that Hearts’ game against Aduana Stars in Dormaa Ahenkro has been postponed since majority of their players including Abednego Tetteh have tested positive of the virus.

“COVID – 19 ALERT

We can confirm that some of our players have tested positive for COVID 19,” a club statement read.

“They have since been isolated & responding to treatment.

“We wish them well & look forward to them joining us stronger.

COVID19isStillAroundStaySafe,” the statement added.

Although, Ghana FA is yet to come out with an official release concerning the game involving Dwarfs and Sharks, it is 70 per cent clear that it may not come on together with other matches.
