The Black Princesses took a huge step towards their participation in the World Cup with an emphatic victory in the friendly game
Ghana’s U-20 female national team secured a 3-0 victory in a friendly game against Kumasi select side on Sunday (July 8, 2018) at the Kumasi Girls’ Senior High School.
After a pulsating opening twenty minutes, Sandra Owusu Ansah broke the deadlock for the national team by the 24th minute with a well-taking strike, before she made it 2-0 three minutes later from the spot after a teammate was brought down in the box.

Ruth Animah who had been very impressive throughout the first-half added another goal two minutes later against the run of play, after the opponents’ effort on goal was thwarted by goalkeeper McCarthy Perry.
Ghana who are making their fifth appearances at the tournament following the 3-1 aggregate win over Cameroon during the qualifiers, have been pitted in Group A of the World Cup with host nation France, Netherlands and New Zealand will face the hosts in the opening game on August 5 at the Stade de la Rabine, Vannes.
Nigeria, who are Africa’s other representatives at the tournament, will play Germany, Korea DPR and Haiti in Group D.
