Jordan Ayew scores late winner for Leicester City as three Ghanaian players feature in one Premier League game.
Ghana forward Jordan Ayew snatched a late winner for Leicester City as they came from two goals down to beat Southampton 3-2 at St. Mary’s Park in Premier League on Saturday.
Ayew came on for Bilal El Khannous by the 68th minute and won the hearts of the travelling supporters with his wonderful late winner following an assist from Harry Winks through a corner kick.
Fatawu Issahaku was also thrown into game after 59 minutes when he replaced Victor Kristiansen and tormented the hosts’ defenders. He provided the assist for Leicester’s first goal which was scored by Facundo Buonanotte on 63rd minute to begin the come back. Jamie Vardy netted the equaliser from the spot ten minutes later before Ayew snatched the winner deep in additional time.
Meanwhile, Kamaldeen Sulemana who have been sidelined by injury throughout this season made a return from the treatment to play the last 12 minutes for Southampton as he replaced Tyler Dibling but he could not help his side to avoid defeat.
Ayew has become the third Black Stars player to hit the back of the net after Kudus Mohammed and Inaki Williams (2 goals) who scored against Tottenham and Espanyol respectively.
