The Porcupine Warriors coach has opted to drop two players who have played major roles in his side’s success so far this season

Asante Kotoko coach Prosper Ogum Narteh has announced a 21-man squad for Saturday’s Ghana Premier League matchday four fixture against Eleven Wonders at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium.

Following the return of captain Abdul Ganiu Ismail from international duties with Ghana, the defender has easily walked into the squad and will likely start the game against the Bono East giants.

However, his partner Yussif Mubarik whom he started the opening two games with against Dreams FC and Bechem United have been dropped.

Mubarik lost his place in the starting line up against Gold Stars and have now been left out of the team completely due to poor form coupled with lack of fitness.

As a result, Maxwell Agyemang and Andrew Appau who started the last match have been maintained while young defender Augustine Agyapong gets his first chance to be in the club’s matchday squad as a replacement for Mubarik.

Meanwhile, all the midfielders that went to camp last week have been maintained but striker Joseph Amoako who started the first two games has been dropped.

The youngster has failed to hugely prove his mettle upon all the chances given him. His place has been taken over by Cameroonian striker Etuoga Mbella Frank Thierry who scored Kotoko’s only goal in the 1-0 narrow win over lower-tier side Asekem FC in a friendly game on Wednesday.

Kotoko are hoping to make it four wins in a row and further widen the gap at the top since joint leaders King Faisal suffered their first defeat of the campaign on Saturday against Berekum Chelsea at the Golden City Park in Berekum.

Meanwhile, Eleven Wonders are also looking forward to win their first game after four matches.

Asante Kotoko’s 21-man squad to face Eleven Wonders:

Goalkeepers: Razak Abalora, Kwame Baah

Defenders: Christopher Nettey, Samuel Appiah, Patrick Asmah, Imoro Ibrahim, Abdul Ganiyu, Andrews Appau, Maxwell Agyemang, Augustine Agyapong

Midfielders: Richard Boadu, Mudasiru Salifu, Richmond Lamptey, Fabio Gama, Sheriff Mohammed

Attackers: Samuel Boateng, Stephen Amankonah, Isaac Oppong, Dickson Afoakwa, Frank Thierry Etuoga Mbella, Mfegue Georges
