Asante Kotoko board of directors meeting took place at the Golden Tulip Hotel in Kumasi on Thursday to talk about the way forward of the club after what many describe as a troublesome campaign where Kotoko failed to achieve their target on the field of play.

Board chairman Osikani Kwame Kyei arrived at the venue around 9am and had to wait since other members were not present.

After some minutes, all the members including vice chairman Jude Arthur, Kwadwo Boateng Gyamfi, Alhaji Abu Lamin, Kwamena Mensah and Joseph Yaw Addo arrived for the meeting to commenced.

The others were Evelyn Nsiah Asare, Baffour Kwame Kusi, Kofi Amoah Abban, Martin Osei Kwaku Brobbey and James Osei Brown.

Osikani Kyei after meeting with the other members for about twenty minutes, sought permission from them to attend to a pressing family issue and his request was granted. He left the scene around 10:26 am.

The meeting continued and the board invited the leadership of National Circles Council around 13:35pm for deliberation on how to go about the supporters census.

NCC members at the meeting

The NCC were led by chairman Christopher Damenya, Nana Kwame Danquah, Osei Owusu (National PRO), Abraham Adu (Deputy National PRO), Koto, Madam Sophia Brago (Women’s Organiser), Obeng Sekyere (Ashanti region chairman) and Kennedy Nyann (B/A Chairman).

The meeting between the board and NCC lasted until around 3:13pm before they also came out with smiles on their faces since they were given the green light to begin their Supporters Census to know the number of registered supporters of the club.

At around 3:15pm, the board of directors invited chief executive officer Nana Yaw Amponsah, who arrived at the venue with his right hand man Bishop and Kotoko acting communication director David Obeng.

However, it was only Amponsah who was called inside for a review and report of Kotoko’s performance last season which also happened to be his first tenure in office. The meeting lasted until around 4:25pm before he came out.

The board then continued with the meeting until 5:02pm before they called it a day.

Later, both the board members, NCC representatives and Nana Yaw Amponsah converged for deliberations and a group picture was taken to crown the day.
