The Porcupine Warriors are on the verge of terminating their contract the Cameroonian defender following a new discovery
Asante Kotoko are contemplating on terminating the contract of Cameroonian defender Koualao Dane Djomian Thomas Pele after just five days at the club, according to former Communications director Obed Acheampong.
Rumours have been flying that the former Dragon de Youande star who penned a three-year deal on Saturday after perfectly passing the club’s medical processes is not fully fit.
Although, the club’s doctors initially cleared him of all injuries, it has been revealed that the player hid a chronic injury he sustained in the past and that has raised a lot of doubts about his fitness and the quality of job done by the medical team.
“Asante Kotoko complete the signing of Cameroonian defender Thomas Pele. The player joins the club on a three-year deal, ” the club wrote on social media last weekend.
However, according to former communication director Acheampong, Kotoko have already lined up Pele’s replacement as they believe he may have to leave.
Koualao Dane Djomian Thomas Pele is among the six players Kotoko have signed including goalkeeper Pouaty Moise D’assise from Cameroon and Ugandan striker Steven Mukwala, Zeze from Ivory Coast.
The club is also expected to announce the signing of Enoch Morrison from city rivals King Faisal this week after the player has been training with the first team.
Kotoko, who will begin their title defence on September 9 against debutants Nsoatreman FC at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium before they play King Faisal and Hearts of Oak in Kumasi derby and Super Clash respectively.
