Kotoko striker Etouga Mbella named Ghana Premier League Best Player of January

The Cameroonian striker scored goals for fun in the month under review and his performance has been rewarded

Asante Kotoko striker Etouga Mbella Frank Thierry has been named Ghana Premier League Best Player of the Month of January ahead of Ashanti Gold winger Yaw Annor and Karela United forward Umar Bashiru.

The 20-year-old joined Kotoko last year from Cameroonian club Fortuna de Mfuo and has since taken Ghana Premier League by storm as he currently leads the goalscoring chart with 13 goals.

However, it was in the month of January that his overwhelming talent came to light as he scored six goals to help Kotoko move top of Ghana Premier League.

Etouga scored five goals in January including a hat-trick against rivals Ashanti Gold in the Asante derby at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium. He also won two Man of the Match Awards.
