‘Strict’ Gabonese referee Ghislain appointed to officiate Ghana vs Zimbabwe

The Knight of the Whistle from Gabon has been appointed to take charge of the Black Stars’ World Cup qualifiers next month

Gabonese referee Atcho Pierre Ghislain has been appointed by FIFA as Ghana’s home game against Zimbabwe in the Group G of 2022 FIFA World Cup Qatar qualifier on October 5 at the Cape Coast Sports Stadium.

Ghislain was the referee that officiated Asante Kotoko’s Caf Confederation Cup game against Kariobangi Sharks in December 2018. It was the first leg of the tie and it took place in Kenya.

He is expected to be assisted by countrymen Ditsoga Boris Marlaise (Assistant I) and Moussounda Montel (Assistant II) as well as Otogo Castane Eric Arnaud who will act as the fourth referee for the game.

Guinean Doumbouya Aboubacar will be the Referee Assessor whiles Mohammed Sanusi of Nigeria takes up the role as the Match Commissioner.

Meanwhile, Ghanaian Dr. Cristiana Baah will be COVID-19 Officer to ensure that all protocols are observed before, during and after the game.
