The Serie A player has advised the leadership of the country’s football governing body to distance him from their discussions after a disappointing Afcon campaign

Ghana midfielder Alfred Duncan has aimed a dig at Ghana Football Association president due to his recent interviews after the Black Stars shambolic performance at 2021 Africa Cup of Nations.

Following the Black Stars shocking elimination from the group stage, after defeats to Morocco and Comoros, Ghana FA boss Kurt Okraku has insisted that coach Milovan Rajevac was not influenced during the selection of players.

Although, some Ghanaians have been mentioning names like Alfred Duncan, Emmanuel Gyasi and Jeffrey Schlupp who play every weekend in Premier League and Italian Serie A, Okraku insisted that every player that was selected for the tournament deserved the slot since there was no player like Cristiano Ronaldo or Lionel Messi’s type who was ignored and Duncan has fired back.

“People [are] tarnishing my image in Ghana. I don’t want to start talking for Ghanaians to connect the dots so please let’s respect ourselves,” Duncan tweeted.

It would be recalled that before the Afcon, reports earlier emerged that Duncan had turned down an opportunity to play for Ghana because he wasn’t ready and the player later revealed that that was not the case as he held several talks with Milovan Rajevac to explain to why he will not be able to honour the invitation.
