The Black Stars are still on their fine tuning as they hope to shock Portugal in the opening game of Group H

Ghana have stepped up their training ahead of 2022 Fifa World Cup Group H fixture against Portugal on Thursday in Doha, Qatar.

The Black Stars go into this game on the back of a 2-0 win over Switzerland in the last friendly game and would hope to use it as a motivation.

The Black Stars must prevent former Manchester United star Cristiano Ronaldo from getting a good game in order to stand a chance of picking at least a point.

Meanwhile, former Ghana defender Samuel Osei Kuffour who doubles as a management committee member believes the Black Stars can shock the world with a victory.

Ghana will face South Korea and Uruguay on November 28 and December 2 respectively before they know whether they will progress to the round of 16 or not.

Asante Kotoko failed to pick three points once again as they were pipped 2-1 by Real Tamale United at Aliu Mahama Sports Stadium in Tamale on Saturday night.

After sharing the spoils 1-1 in midweek with Legon Cities at home, Kotoko came into the game with their eyes set on three points.

Fortunately, Cameroonian winger Georges Mfegue got the opening goal of the game for the visitors by the 43rd minute as they continued to pile pressure on their hosts.

However, RTU pulled even after the break against the run of play. Issah Kuka slotted home from close range after a defensive break down.

Abagna added the winning goal on 63rd minute for RTU to set the stadium on fire.

Deep in additional time, RTU were saved by the wood work as Justice Blay’s header rattled the crossbar.

Kotoko sit third on the log with 14 points, two points behind leaders Aduana Stars who have a game in hand.

Ghana midfielder Abdul Samed Salis was wowed the remaining 25-players in Black Stars camp on Saturday when he finally had his initiation dance in Qatar.

Salis was handed a place in Otto Addo’s squad for 2022 Fifa World Cup and although he played against Switzerland in the friendly this week, he was finally initiated into the squad this weekend.

Other players like Kamal Sowah was also given the stage to exhibit his dancing skills to his teammates.

Ghana will play Portugal on opening day of Group H on Thursday before they face South Korea and Uruguay on November 28 and December 2 respectively.

The Black Stars who have been pitted with Portugal, South Korea and Uruguay in Group H touched down to a arousing welcome from Ghanaians living in Qatar and other locals as well as international journalists and observants.

Ghana will play their opening game in Group H against Portugal on Friday before they lock horns with South Korea and Uruguay on November 28 and December 2 respectively.

The Black Stars, regardless of their recent poor showings, remain one of the wild cards from Africa and many pundits believe they could qualify alongside Portugal from their group.
