Ntow Fianko dares Ghana FA; advises Division One Clubs to kick against ¢10,000 officiating fees

Former chairman of Ghana’s Division One League board, Ntow Fianko Esq, has launched a scathing attack on Ghana Football Association insisting that they have been extorting lower tier clubs in recent times.

According to the Chiraa native, the ¢10,000 to be paid by each second-tier club as an officiating fee ahead of the new season, is outrageous since the clubs are even struggling to raise funds to run their daily activities.

“We are tired of the robbery. I entreat all the clubs in the Division One League to come together and boycott the league or kick against the ¢10,000 as officiating fee,” Fianko told Space FM.

“The FA cannot do anything against them. If the FA is serious, why would they pay an ex gratia of $1,700 to people who walk about aimlessly at the FA without doing any work and the turn to rob these poor clubs to pay money for officiating?” he quizzed.

” My club [Berekum Arsenal] don’t have tthat money to pay and I know Bofoakwa are also not ready to pay. That is what others must do. We’ll support any club who stands up to fight against this decision

“The FA went for StarTimes deal which included officiating fee but clubs never benefited and are still told to pay additional fees,” he added.

The second-tier league was expected to kickoff in the coming weeks but all activities have been halted following an injunction placed on Congress by Great Olympics last week.

Madam Eyiah-Donkor, before handing down the punishment to him, expressed concern about the growing child neglect in the Ashanti Region and said the sentence would serve as deterrent.

#Breaking: Ghana Premier League launch called off after court injunction

The launch for the 2017-18 Ghana Premier League couldn’t take place as scheduled after Great Olympics filed an injunction and served Ghana Football Association on Monday afternoon, AshesGyamera can confirm.

Although, the football association’s Twitter handle revealed earlier that the program will continue unabated as the 16 club’s expected to play in the top-flight next season will present their registered jerseys, the program was called off after several advice from top lawyers.

According to them, it will be a contempt of court if the program takes place and clubs present their jerseys and since the program can’t take place without that part, GFA agreed to cancel it until further notice.

AshesGyamera understands that Great Olympics are contesting why Ghana FA failed to address their protests against Bechem United and Elmina Sharks after the two clubs allegedly fielded unqualified players.

Great Olympics place injunction on Ghana Premier League, New season in limbo

Ghana Football Association have been served with an injunction from Great Olympics on Monday to halt all activities related to the kickoff of 2017-18 Ghana Premier League season which was scheduled to kick off on January 13.

The Wonder Club are crying foul after alleging that their protests against an unqualified player fielded by Bechem United and Elmina Sharks were thrown out despite having proofs of the legalities.

According to the club’s CEO, Oloboi Commodore, the football association can’t hold anything related to the start of the season without Olympics.

“I was at GFA secretariat this afternoon to hand over the injunction letter and prevent them from holding anything related to the start of the new season until all cases are cleared,” Commodore told Goal.

“The general secretary took the letter on the association’s behalf. We have two cases against Bechem United and Elmina Sharks and that can determine our faith in the Premier League. As I’m talking to you right now, we’ve not been relegated and so there can’t be plans about the new season without us.

“They can’t hold the launch of the new season or announce the clubs to participate without addressing our case. Also, the association can’t hold its congress and discuss the Premier League or club’s that have been promoted or relegated until the case is attended and all parties satisfied,” he added.

However, AshesGyamera understands that the launch of the new season will take place on Monday evening.
