Supporters to watch Ghana Premier League games with COVID-19 vacination card -Dr. Nsiah

The government’s advisory committee head has given a clue on how supporters will be allowed to watch league games from the various stadiums

Ghana government’s head of advisory committee on Health, Dr. Nsiah Asare has revealed that Ghanaians who have been vaccinated against COVID-19 will be allowed entry into various stadiums when the season kicks off this weekend.

According to Dr. Nsiah, government and Ghana Football Association are putting in place measures to lift the ban on watching games but it is possible that only those who have been vaccinated will be allowed entry in order to stop the spread of the disease.

Debutants Accra Lions will open the season with a home game against Elmina Sharks at the Accra Sports Stadium on Friday before two games are also played on Saturday.

The remaining games of the weekend will be held on Sunday

“So far as the COVID-19 cases isn’t raising at an alarming rate in country right now doesn’t mean we should allow more people to go to the stadiums when the season starts,” Dr. Nsiah told Angel FM

“We have only 4.1% vaccinated people in the country and it’s most likely that fans will go to the stadium with their Vaccination cards,” he added.

Those who will not have the opportunity to watch the games from the stadium will have to watch some of them on television via StarTimes.

In total, StarTimes have plans to cover a minimum of 75 matches in the first round of the season and 90 matches after the break.
