Medeama coach Samuel Boadu is responding to treatment after being rushed to Pentecost Hospital in Tarkwa when he collapsed as his side won 1-0 against Ashanti Gold at the AKOON Park in Tarkwa on Saturday.
Despite Boadu’s absence, Medeama held on to their 1-0 lead thanks to Prince Opoku Agyemang’s effort to hand Ashanti Gold their second defeat in a row.
However, Medeama’s supporters rep for Ashanti region Jawad Obama believes their coach was spiritually attacked by the visitors who wanted to destabilise their bench.
“What happened to our coach can be normal. He was spiritually attacked by our opponents,” Obama told Kessben FM.
“On their way to Tarkwa, we heard a lot of things and it wasn’t a surprise that our coach who had been unfit throughout the day collapsed the moment he stood up. However, we thank everyone for their prayers especially Ashanti Gold’s team doctor because he has shown professionalism since he helped saved Boadu’s life,” he added.
Assistant coach Hamza Mohammed took charge in Boadu’s absence as Medeama recorded their third win at home this campaign.
