Ghana and Liberty Professional defender Samuel Sarfo has signed for Iranian giants Saipa FC in a one-and-half-year deal, AshesGyamera can confirm.
The 26-year-old, who was close to joining Ghana FA Cup champions Asante Kotoko, after agreeing personal terms, opted to move outside for greener pastures.
Although, the fee involved in his transfer hasn’t been confirmed by both parties, reports in the local media suggests that he joined the Iranian club in a deal worth around $150,000.
Sarfo, who made his debut for Ghana in 2017 under coach Kwesi Appiah, scored seven goals last season to help Liberty avoid relegation.
Sarfo has become the second player to join an Arabian club after Samuel Afful also joined a club in Iraq.
